Default Help! Defending blinds, and stealing blinds

i know this is more important at higher limits and tourney play, but it's frustrating me already at the 25c/50c tables now.

What are the best ways to defend the blinds, as well as to steal blinds.

Why would you steal blinds at a ring game? Are the stacks that shallow?
What's the difference between a large cheese pizza and a poker player?

A large cheese pizza can feed a family of four.

...Ring. The blinds should be 1/100 of your stack, hardly worth defending or stealing blinds, call blind steals or LP raises with implied odds hands like suited connectors, because it is marginally cheaper giving you better odds.

suited connectors only, what about pocket pairs (lower ones) and Axs - implied odds not quite as monstrous as the str8 / flush draw ?
