the habitual minraiser and minbetter

These two people annoy the hell out of me.

We all know them, you're on the button with 67s (or on the BB and the button or UTG minraises) and you call, and one of the blinds minraises, its still worth a call..but hey a lot of people like to do this to "trap"...but they do it every time they raise. After that (since these people almost ALWAYS do this out of position..) they minbet the flop, and you can't tell the difference between a hit and miss from them

How do you adjust your game to these minbetting calling stations, especially in the BB and button situations

This is how I deal with it....since I too hate it.

If you KNOW these are the types in the blinds, then either RAISE preflop, or don't limp at all. You might just be bleeding money away to them since you have no read either way.

If they min bet the flop, then RAISE them [calling gets you no additional information] If they call, or RERAISE you go from there.

I hate them too, these are just ways that I've found to deal with them.

I've tried reraising (pot sized, so we're talking about a $2.75ish reraise (everyone else has usually folded to their raise before it gets to me) and they call, and call and call, and usually by the time its to the river you have no idea what they have and can't decide what to do. These guys seem to just pick up $3 pot after $3 pot with MINBETS and there doesn't seem to be much you can do about it

How about aok's counter strat? HeHe..limp the hands you would raise when you play these people and then go from there. I think his counter strat is the BEG. FORUMS.

Quit limping hands with them then. No need to limp 87s.. what if your 8 hits?? What will you do then?

Or you can just raise preflop, and get them to call or fold.

With no read, I just ignore the pf miniraise. If I'm going to limp, I call it. If I'm going to raise, I raise it. The only time it kinda sucks is when I have junk in the BB. I don't call the miniraise, so they did push me out of the hand.

You should definitely pay attention to their position when they miniraise. More often than not, monsters hiding behind miniraises come from either ep or in late when they fear no one will call them. Also, see how they respond to the flop. See what they showdown. Many miniraises are with drawing hands like suited connectors or with small pps.

Normally I reraise here but with so many behind me I elected to call, what would you do on the flop?

I totally ignore minraises and minbetters, if i have a hand i'll raise it up or fold

I tend to raise my limping standards against these guys if they are acting after me PF and probably raise more and limp less. If they're doing this in the blinds most limpers will call the min raise, so your pot odd should be the same albeit more expensive. Counter-play also a good option.

If he's min-raising 25% or more of his hands, then I make it $3 flat with AJs, ignore his flop bet and fire off on any flop.

In general, with these guys I just put on my LHE cap and draw to anything getting odds. The only part where this gets annoying is when they over-bet the next street. However, with a read it's certainly exploitable.

These guys are a blast if you give them position. Just check for information and see what the field does...
