    If it's not a bad beat post, I don't understand why you are posting it. With your reads, why wouldn't you call this? What do you think people are going to reply with?

    Don't put too much faith in this friend's poker advice imo. If villain is really shoving ATC, or even a somewhat wide range, then you are going to be calling here and feeling pretty good about it.

    equity win tie pots won pots tied
    Hand 0: 48.596% 43.51% 05.08% 1227903228 143425752.00 { 77+, A9s+, KTs+, QTs+, AJo+, KQo }
    Hand 1: 51.404% 46.32% 05.08% 1307122260 143425752.00 { AQs, AQo }

    That is the top 10% of hands. So if villain is shoving any worse than that you are happy to call and get it in no matter the outcome, and from your read, he is doing it with wayyyyy more hands.

    Ya if he's shoving a wide range and you are closing the action this is a snap call.

    On friday i was playing a 50NL table with a similar maniac at the table, who was randomly spazz shoving preflop with hands like Q5o and 73s. Anyway him and another guy at the table eventually got 300bbs deep and he spazz shoved the button for like the 5443544543th time in a row and the dude in the BB tanked for ages and folded AKs (or so he claimed). When I asked why on earth he folded he said 'well he could have 22'. LOOOOOL.

    wow i didnt realize my equity was THAT good against the top 10% and he was DEFINITELY shoving a wider range than that lol. Thanks for all the advice guys. O and my friend is actually a REALLY decent poker player, hes just a super nit lol. He doesnt like to to ANYTHING without thinking he was the best of it lol. Hes helped me improve my game quite a bit, and im helping him be just a LITTLE bit more aggro sometimes. Its a good combination .

    Seriously, this man is not joking. It will be the single most useful tool to your development. Tell your friend to get it as well. He might be a decent player, but he's leaving monies on the table if he folds when he's ahead of his opponents range. OMG SOMETIMES YOU DON'T EVEN NEED THE BEST OF IT FOR IT TO BE A CALL.

    If you can't get PokerStove, check out this site:

    http://www.notedpokerauthority.com/poker-tools

    Although it doesn't work for a range of hands, it's still better than nothing, and it can help for analyzing after the fact whether or not you got your money in good in a particular hand. One bonus is that it also works for games like Omaha Hi/Lo that PokerStove doesn't work for.

    dranger7070, what OS are you running on the Mac?
    I know that for OSX there is a windows emulator (WINE) that you could possibly use to run PokerStove.

    If you have an intel Mac, just install windows on it through bootcamp, and then you can run all the programs you want!

    make sure you tell your friend that you know exactly where you are in the hand (you are calling when you have your opponents range in bad shape), and that once the money is all in, it doesn't really matter anymore anyways, because you only have 1 decision to make, and once that is made, where you think you are is irrelevant.

    If you still had to play 3 more streets, then having some idea where you stand when oop in a bloated pot would be nice, but this is not the case here.

    OP:

    while AQo is more than likely ahead of villain's range, you do have a 125BB stack.

    So it all comes down to risk tolerance and bankroll management, and the fact that when seated with maniacs you will have to endure higher-variance plays, and therefore need the adequate bankroll for it.

    Whooper: This is ring games, stop saying lol, and.. actually just stfu.
    Soccer: Look at the title of the thread.

    The math tells you to call this easily, but I'm always wary about calling with that. That's one thing that will always be a balancing act: The odds and your intuition and reads.

    Why on earth would u ignore the cold hard mathfact and go with your intuition? And all reads do is provide you with more information to base the maths on so the two are not mutually exclusive.

    If you can, ask Santa for a cheap $350 mini pc like
    http://tinyurl.com/6nzuvv

    I'm sure you really like your mac but just call it your poker pc. Now you can run pokerstove, poker tracker3, hold'em manager and any other pc only software that comes along and you don't have to play with dual boot stuff. I had to buy a pc years ago just to play quake. It really is worth it to have pokerstove, PT3 etc.
