Getting killed from the blinds

Default Getting killed from the blinds

After a pretty short sample of 4k hands Ive noticed ive been losing a lot of money in the blinds. Is this normal? Should I be winning money from the blinds or atleast breaking even? And if it is not normal what steps can I take to fix it?

I will say that I tend not to call too much from the blinds, I also do not complete the sb much. I 3bet/raise or fold generally and when I do opt to just call it is almost always with a PP. Even then, I dont play much from the blinds maybe I am just not defending enough?

Anyway here is a shot of my positions report. Im not sure if it will help in determining the problem or not but at this point Im sure any bit of guidance or suggestion will help!

You wanna die? Run on up on that black Seven forty-five.

Playing from the blinds is not the easiest of spots, and is one I tend to tighten up in. Play from the blind is amplified due to the fact you have to play the rest of the hand out of position. 4k is not a large enough sample, but may give you some inklings (this is what the big players will say, I'm sure).

I'll try to link you some sources for better blind information rather than the drivel I just said above...

These may be helpful if you haven't seen them already:

(seeing it from the other perspective may shine some light on your blind play)

There will obviously be others and better players who comment, myself I tighten up from the blinds and when I have a bigger hand, play them vigorously.

    Default ABCD

I have been thinking of it like our hands are split into 4 ranges.

A - This range is our high pp AK etc which we will be 3 betting for value.
B - This is our calling range which is generally hands that are ahead of villian's range, but way behind villian's continue to 3 bet range.
C- These are our hands we 3 bet as a bluff, but also have some postflop potential such as 67s or something.
    D- Fold this trash.

As far as pps go i think 3 betting some of the lowest ones is far more favorable than calling and playing oop.

Your opinion of your blind play differs from the stats. Your playing as much from the SB as you do from the CO (23/13) and calling more.

I think this may be from blind stealing from the SB on a tight BB or raising up someone who completes the SB. Limped pots to my BB maybe? Im not sure why those numbers are so high, But I know its not from playing raised pots OOP unless Im the one raising. I actually really think im too tight from the blinds.

it's your SB stat and your raising 13 out of 23% that leaves 10% of hands are calls or completes

ya this is a small sample, and no you're not getting killed here. In the BB you're forced to put in 1bb/hand but you're only down .14bb/hand which means you're making back a fair amount here. I think you could probably get your losses closer to BE in the SB. Try completing less in multiway pots. A lot of people overestimate their implied odds on completing because lol pot odds are 7:1 but really, you're going to flop trips llike 73:1 and you're not always going to get any action either.

Completing in the SB will also put you into a lot of awkward spots with one pair type hands because of the very large SPR's.

actually this is PT3 so he's forced to put in 0.5bb per hand
