    Default FYI: FullTilt Update

FullTilt now has 2nl and 5nl

    edit: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/micro-stakes

doesn't say anything about the rake, I'm looking into it

Could this draw more fish in perhaps? I play 25NL on Stars but am soon switching to Full Tilt and have heard it's nit-ridden.
    Ich grolle nicht...

nice. Just had someone have to uninstall and reinstall FT so if the update won't happen just do that. Maybe someone who knows can look into the rake situation compared to Stars before someone asks.

What's the rake in those games?
  5. #5
just saw a $7.25 cent pot at 2nl, rake was 50 cents

next hand $1.25 pot, $.08 rake

Yeah, but what's the rake? Everyone has been warned not to go to FT because the rake is like being anally raped with a broomhandle.
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes

I just wonder why it took so long for FullTilt to do this

They have a massive amount of 10NL tables with 7% rake (5% subtracting rakeback), $2 max rake compared to 5%(3.7% with rakeback) for 25NL, 50NL $3 max... Then there's the cost of managing new players if they're going to play microstakes only - I could imagine that they're loosing money overall with the ultra-micros. I wouldn't be surprised if it's purely a marketing gimmick.

    50 cents on $7.25 is 6.4%
    8cents $1.25 is 6.89%

so it looks like its best to assume its 7% rake like oscar said for the 10NL tables to allow a bit of leeway in the calculations.

full tilt rake caluculator --> fulltiltpoker. com/rake.php

    it's 6.67% .. so 7% .. but at 25nl it's 5% .. .

    $0.01 per $0.15 in the pot @ $2NL and $5NL. Max $2.

it appears they changed the low limit rake system... i might consider depositing in there for 50 bucks and grind it up there too from 2NL

Um, it's actually more expensive at the micros at 6.67%. $10 and $25 have always been 5%. Stars is still 5% at $2 and $5NL.

Zorrito, why would you want to split your roll between 2 sites?

Full Tilt always taxes the low stakes ring games, sit n gos, and tourneys extremely heavy. Some of the 1 dollar sit n gos have a 25 cent rake which is a joke. Pokerstars rake is only 5 cent less on 1 dollar sit n gos but it also offers turbos and double or nothing with rakes of just 10 and 15 cent. So there are a lot more options.

i know i'm retarded.... i just thought about it and it was such a bad decision... i doubt i'd ever go to full tilt... i can't even get rakeback or anything right now...

what i did find really awesome is the fact that poker stars allows you to change the sounds... so right now i have most of the full tilt sounds when i play poker stars so it feels like i'm playing full tilt without the fold animations and stuff....

About the players... I only played 15k hands of 50NL there. I didn't find it to be a nitfest... there are quite a few TAG's.
I found myself table selecting more than on other sites... and table selecting is pretty much the most annoying thing about the FT software... You can't filter for specific stakes, and if you sort by anything but table name, you'll get eyecancer because it just keeps rearranging the 100 tables in the list every second or so.
I usually play ~15/12 @FR - at FT I played 21/16 so far... trying to adjust to TAG's - bad TAG's mostly... but I'd still rather have some more 50/3 donks instead.
It's definitely worth if you're going for the full deposit bonus - which means you're basically playing rake free until you cleared it... but don't do it below 25NL - and 25NL only if you can put in 20k hands / month.

meh I just had to email them scans of my california driver license, a recent bill, my birth certificate, passport, front and profile picture of me holding the sign "iopq fulltiltpoker", and I threw in naked pictures of my mom for good measure

I've dealt with a lot of sites... I have sent a copy of my DL and a recent bill to a few of them, but the only one that couldn't send me a check after that was UB. So far they're the only site that quite literally wouldn't let me cash out.

I've had nothing but awesome experience cashing out from stars... I doubt I will ever switch unless the rake is like 3% somewhere else...

Um, it's actually more expensive at the micros at 6.67%. $10 and $25 have always been 5%.
The rake at $10NL at Full Tilt has never been 5% as far as I'm aware of. Up until recently, the rake at 10NL was 10%, capped at $2 per pot. Like iopq says, he was running at 1BB/100. After 15,000 hands I was running at like -0.5BB/100, which, when I adjusted for a 5% rake worked out at about +2.5BB/100.

They've made it now so that everything at 10NL and below is 6.7%. If you're getting 27% rakeback, the rake becomes effectively 5% like you'd find elsewhere (how convenient).

As for whether or not you want to play there...

Hmm..I thought it was always 5%, max $2. Doesn't really matter...still too damn expensive. I'm staying at Bodog until I hit $50NL, maybe even $100NL.
