    Default Full Tilt Rakeback Question

I've signed up for RB through FTP's preferred affiliate rakebackpros, and here's what happened during my first week of play:

Basically, I was earning RB (playing short sessions of 5NL) at a clip of about $1 per day, meaning that BEFORE I played any hands on Monday, I had $4.62 in RB earned. AFTER Monday play, I had dropped down to $2.03.

I am also currently unlocking my First Deposit Bonus and did have a release of funds from that Bonus into my account during the first week I was on RB. Does that Bonus or something else account for the fact that I seemingly "lost" RB?? Thanks!!

Rakeback comes out of MGR. MGR is basically how much rake you've generated on Full Tilt.

There are lots of things that can reduce your MGR. Bonuses is one of them. Playing in tournaments with overlay or buying stuff from the Full Tilt store will also reduce your MGR.

So yeah, clearing that bonus is reducing your rakeback. But that's not a bad thing. You're making more money than you would with full 27% rakeback and no bonus. Technically you're making something like 50% rakeback.

    you've found your answer.
You get rakeback as a % of MGR, so, say your MGR is $100 and 27% rakeback gives you $27. Some bonuses and promos (e.g. FTP store purchases) are deducted from your MGR. So, say your MGR is $100, 27% rakeback, but you cleared $50 in bonus -> your rakeback is calculated as 0.27*(100-50) = $13.50

OK, cool........so just to be clear, I'll be generating "less" Rakeback while earning the bonus, but the Bonus $$ more than offsets that, and then once the bonus is clear I'll be generating RB at a seemingly higher rate (assuming amt. of revenue generated is the same)?

Thanks so much for the answers!!

    Yep, you've got it.

But do keep in mind that the benefits on MGR-reducers aren't always worth it. I don't know if this is still the case, but I believe at one time tournament overlay could severely kill your MGR if there weren't a lot of other rakeback players to share the burden. If you consider buying things with your FTPs, do the math on it and see how much the items are actually costing you in rakeback..

Yeah, it seems pretty clear that for me and my current Bankroll (plus the fact that I'm not a particularly skilled MTT player), stuff like the Daily Dollar could in fact be pretty harmful for my MGR as that puppy can generate quite a bit of overlay on some days.

I guess my current plan will be to mostly just grind away at micro cash tables to push through the Bonus and then take it from there.........
