    Default Fold the nut flush???

Dealt K/10 suited in late position 6 limpers so I limp. Flop Ad 4d 3d. checks around and i check as well only worried about a fullhouse developing. A on the turn MP bets 1/5th the pot (.25) I raise to 1 folds around to him he re raises to 1.75. I call. 3 on the river so my nut flush has turned into a scary proposition. He bets pot. What do you do?? Results after a while.

    I would think like this:
He checked the flop, so two pair or an ace only is not likely.
He could hold a set of 3's or 4's, but would then probably bet it to avoid a flush draw hitting. I would put him on a flush like QJs or a small set and I would probably call.

    Fold, call, raise.

Those are your options listed from best to worst.

Honestly, I'd probably have pushed on the turn re-raise.

My decision at the river would depend on my reads on the guy, how he's been playing, etc.

Well Borax had him dead fucking on. I quick called before I lost my nerve and talked myself out of a pot. Also to look him up because up to that point I had no read on him. He had a lower flush so I took it down. Felt really good at the time but in hindsight I think I should fold if that rare situation occurs again. I feel like I misplayed it and got lucky which is something I've learned not to brag about around here nor does it make me feel like my game has gotten better.

Regardless of whether this is true, it's good that you're willing and able to make the distinction. Kudos!

Here's a related (thought admittedly late) question. What could be done to avoid this situation? I guess I could push hard on the flop if you are playing by the "win when you have the best hand" mantra, but when I flop the nut flush I almost instantly switch gears to get the most chips I can mode. Any bet I make that doesnt scare everyone off isnt gonna scare a guy with an A that paired or 2 pair. Any thoughts??

key word developing... if u flopped the nuts bet it. slow play will only fuck you into a full house that will come.

I would raise his reraise on flop. He probably won´t fold whatever he has.
The turn is hard to say, but I probably wouldn´t fold. I can´t say what´s right or wroing, but I see no reason to not raise him on flop.

He didnt raise the flop it was checked around to me on the button.

And I agree I could push the flop but would I not be sacrificing profitablility most of the time?
