Default Fnord, how many tables you play?

how many tables do you play? and at what limits? seems to me, you have a huge intellect towards poker. but do you apply this while you multitable, if you do? or you just play solid poker? or do you just play one table and applying your sexy smartness towards it?

do you play solid poker? or what, LAGG to TAGG? or LAG TAG or TAG LAG or what. lol just interested.
  4. #4
i know it depends on the table, but how do you usually adapt?
  5. #5
My guess is he LAGs tight tables until his image sucks (i.e. until they become loose) and TAGs loose tables
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

Fnord is a very solid tagg who picks the right times to gamble it up. Without looking at both of my databases, I think he's running at about 50ptbb/100 (no typo) over close to 1000 hands with me...

If you'd quit donating that figure would be way lower...

I only show hands when goofing with friends. I stopped showing in card rooms a while ago. People are more inclined to make stupid calls if they know they have to pay to see it. It also creates mystery. I mentally keep track of someting I call "goodwill" at the table. After taking down a bunch of pots without showdown via aggression it pretty much has the same effect as showing a bluff and it wins you a couple more pots in the process. Plus getting caught bluffing is just spiffy.

yeah i read somewhere gettin caught bluffing could be a good thing, as it loosens your image hence giving you more action. i usually don't show either, but i just wanted to see if it was good not to show. i know it gives information, but sometimes you can use that to your advantage. but imma stick to no showing. and what you mean by "lukie has me running 100 dollars/100 hands?" i don't really get that, does that mean every 100 hands, you gain a 100 dollars?

Great point! That's why I never show my big hands, I don't care if I make quads, if they don't pay it goes in the muck. Sooner or later they'll think you're bullying them and they'll do 1 of 2 things. 1: call you all the way or 2: donk off all their chips raising you AI with a pair of 4s. I 5 table and I'm always aware of which tables and especially which players I have won alot of pots against without showing. A situation will arise where I'd normally fold but then I remember that the last 2 times my opponent PFRd I 3 bet him with AA or KK and bet the flop and he folded and I didn't show. Then I realize that he thinks I'm bullying him and I call quick with my overpair or TPTK. Sometimes I feel like I can hear the gears spinning in their little brains when they pick up a wheel draw on the turn and pause for 5 seconds, I think to myself....... he's about to go AI with a wheel draw, and sure eneugh AI!!! CALL, "thanx donk" I think to myself because I would never actually type something that cruel.

As far as showing junk goes I'm all for it with a few exceptions. I rarely raise junk at BoDog because players seem to constantly switch tables there, I think it has something to do with the quick seating feature. At Party I can usually sit down at a table with at least 5 of the same opponents for 2 hours. I'll raise and show junk once at each table at the beggining of a 2 hour+ sesssion, maybe again after 2 hours if there are some new faces and the table is too tight, but I'd say once every 300 hands is eneugh. Ideally I'll be on the button or CO with alot of limpers and it's been a while since my last PFR and I'll have a truly attrocios hand like a deuce and an offsuit 3-9. More often than not they all fold and I'll show the trash and prey for AA in the next couple hands. If they call I'll play it like an unimproved AK, If the flop is raggy or paired I'll pot the flop and show when they fold. If the flop has an ace I'll rep the ace with a 2/3 pot bet and show when they fold. The only time I don't like to show is if I think they hit the flop like a J,Q or K on the flop I'll check, if they check to me again on the turn I'll bet 1/2 the pot on the turn cuz they're practically begging for a reason to fold at that point. I like using the check the flop and bet the turn play when I think they might have hit the flop and I would never want them to catch on to that, so I don't show if I do that.

Great post congats on breaking 10,000! keep 'em coming!

related question. Fnord, what is your winrate at nl100 in your PT stats for the last few months. We all know that 1k or even 10k hands is pretty much nothing.

my favorite is "reload please", especially after they either make a rediculously stupid play, or I suck out on them

I play at stakes where I'm confortable gambling without worring at all about the results of a particular hand. That being said, I'm getting pretty over-due for NL200.

50bb/100 means on avg he makes 50 big blinds per 100 hands. So if he plays at a limit where the bb is $2, his 50bb/100 winrate is bringing in on avg $100 per 100 hands. I believe a solid winning player only has to make 10bb/100 at anything lower than 600NL, at which point it might drop to 6bb/100, pretty much making a buy-in after 1000 hands. So 50bb/100 is a huge winrate.

Apparently Fnord likes to play 25NL when he's bored, and judging by what he said about being overdue for 200NL, his roll should be around 3k or higher.

I haven't touched a game smaller than 100NL in months.

really? Well then someone on absolute uses the name FNORD (the O is a zero) and claims to have written an article called, "Playing Low Limit Holdem" or something like that.

That was last night btw. I also took 11 bucks off said individual in our last hand of the night, we both had pocket Queens, but he folded.

None of this rings a bell?

Most of my online handles no longer have the word 'fnord' in them.

It cuts into my edge when people know who I am and I don't know they know who I am.

To clarify.. the xbb/100 format is from pokertracker, where bb = big bet = 2 big blinds.

Also, I don't know who did, but you really shouldn't directly ask somebody what their br is imo. It's like asking someone how much they have in their bank account...

Fnord- I've been playing a lot of AoE3 lately, but I think it's Friday night and we all know the games really tighten up on the weekends, so I'll probably fire up a bunch of tables tonight.
