flush draw

what gives you more +EV

you are in with 2 or more players you are given a flush draw. on the flop. everyone checks around to you. Do you bet it or check looking for your draw card?

what about if you are in early position?

It depends.

How deep is the money?
How big is the pot relative to the blinds/antes?
What's the best way to get these particular players to pay off?
How often would a bet take down the pot?

Okay the game I play is 50NL. and I am just not sure where to go with this. sometimes I raise and everyone calls or even re-raises me.

and this is if everyone in the pot limps in.

I guess the question is, if I raise and everyone folds, vs the posibility of getting a flush and then no one calls your bets and folds?

If it's an unraised pot with lots of money behind, you should bet for fold equity and to build a pot if you hit so you can make bigger value bets.

Doesn't matter with deep money unless they hammer it. Particularly against retards that will min-raise. W00t, if I hit the turn I get paid!

In general, you are better off betting it no matter what position you are in. Fold to any crazy check/raise or huge re-raise. The reason you are better off betting it is twofold: 1. You can take the pot down there. 2. You will get paid better when you hit your flush. Villain always suspects flush draw when you check/call, but if you are the aggressor then there is a higher probability that they will misread your hand and pay you off when you hit.

How often would a bet take down the pot? In my experience, probably 40-50% of the time. Yours differ?

Also if you're drawing to the nut flush it's a good idea to bet. Then if you hit you're more likely to get a lower flush all in.

Flush over flush is very rare. We would have to be a lot deeper than 100 blinds for me to consider it.

So you think it's OK to push against aggression/call a push with only a small pot when you hit a middle flush with 100bb stacks? If there's no action, then lots of action when a flush hits the board, I would assume two flushes.

I don't believe I've ever folded a smaller flush to a bigger flush with 3 on the board. I've thought about it and wondered about a couple hands I paid off, but it just doesn't come up often enough.
