[x] Best thread ever.

Btw, I hate being a troll.. So I apologize for that. But seriously guys... Joblah123 had one of the best responses in the thread.

First off, OP you came about this in absolute wrong manner. Yes, poker is a game of incomplete information; however, this doesn't mean you should form questions and leave out any sort of specifics at all. As you should already know nearly everything in poker depends on certain factors/questions/situations that must be considered. This question is no different.

You left out critical information like whether the game is 6m/HU/FR, and that is obviously important. Please try to provide as much information as possible in your questions (within reason), so that you can get intelligent responses, instead of people (no offense) just throwing out anything and everything they "know" or have heard.

But to answer your question, I play whatever % of hands I feel is +ev. If I feel a hand is +ev in a situation, then I play it. If I don't, then I throw it away. It's really that simple. Asking others what percentage of hands they play so you can "try it out for a bit" is probably going to end up bad. You might not have the same experience as others, you might think "well... he plays 5% more hands than me... That must mean he is playing this hand and this hand", and you could make the totally wrong adjustment and choose the wrong hands in absolutely wrong situations.

Instead of doing the above, understand where the value from a hand is going to be coming from, then understand situations in which you can play a less than premium hand profitably (3betting air, calling with SCs, calling broadways, etc). Just start out tight in early position and begin adding more hands in LP, and as you get more comfortable opening a wider range and playing that wider range postflop, begin adding in more hands that appear to be profitable (and I don't mean add the 27o that is up in your DB because you misclick shoved preflop and flopped quads).
