It's 2NL, you can easily spot the players who 3bet with crap and those who raise with the goods. You're barely getting 8:1 to here on your preflop call. You'd like to have around 15:1 when playing for set odds. So first mistake is calling preflop.

As played, a flop lead is fine. You hit your set, get the money in.
