Final 3 in Tournaments

I've been doing quite well in low money single table tournaments but for some reason I struggle once it gets down to the last 3 players even though on a couple of occasions I was over 3000 chips in front!
Is there a common strategy that good players use when in this situation?

As with any other thing in poker - it depends

For me - in the final 3 I play very agressively against most players.

Against agressive players I tend to play more timid and try to trap them when I have a good hand

At this stage it is very important to understand who you play against and what is their style of play
