    Default Discipline

Much of my loss in poker is due to discipline, I grind my way to 50% in my bankroll, I blew it playing PLO which I am not very good at. I grind it up again from 200 to 300 playing 20NL. I blow it in 1hr playing 50NL. I think I would be such a great poker player if I had the discipline, I trust my instincts much. Anyone can help me with this? I remember theres a post, some drunk guy donked off his bankroll in one night. I need to read that again.

A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step... or something gay like that.

I got burned more than a few times doing dumb things.

Most of them involved me trying to play a game I'm not my best at, for money I really really didn't wanna lose.

As a micro player grinding 25NL FR underrolled, I would do things like get drunk and play 200NL 6-max on a $400 BR.

7 hands into that, I still remember this hand seared into my drunken memory: I had busted an uber-shorty & had a $245 stack. monsterstack in the CO pops it up to $8, I call with 88.

flop: AJ8. I bet, he raises, i flat. donk the turn, we git it in & flips JJ.

Lesson: Next time you're drunk and about to sit down at a game ask yourself:

-Are you playing a game you aren't the best at?
-Are you playing a game you're underrolled for?

if you get even one yes, bail immediately. Donk around at micros when you're drunk. I suggest micro SnG turbos. being drunk helps you there I think.

Probably time to stop trusting your instincts and start following a bankroll management plan.
Just dipping my toes back in.

screw instinct. I'd rather have position, a read and more money than the other idiot.
