Default Did I make the right move?

Played a tourney last night. To summerize.

    1. Mid/Late game (200/400 blinds)and I'm the short stack (2400 in chips)
    2. Dealt K/K on the button
    3. Folded all the way around to me. SB and BB have double the amount of my chips.
    4. I push all in 2400. SB calls BB folds.

Well long story short, He shows A/8 off. And catches an Ace on the flop and turn.

Should I have just raised? Should I have just called?

You got the situation you wanted here. he got lucky and caught an ace. You probably had him thinking you were blind stealing and called you with a 3 out hand. I think i would have done the same, especially if it was getting down and i was choosing to play more marginal hands.

You probably were a little bit over-aggressive. But you did the right thing. You got your chips in the pot when you had the best of it. Luckily you had a call, and unluckily he out-drew you.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

i would have done the same - he just happened to catch one of his three outs.
i hate what i have become to escape what i hated being...

To mix it up, I like call and then go all in if raised. If not raised, see the flop. If the guy checks when the Ace comes up then bet big with a possible all-in. If the guy bets strong after the Ace is flopped, avoid going all-in if at all possible.

I think you made the stronger play, but this is just an option I like to use.

If it were earlier I'd agree, but the raises were getting bolder and bolder. So I figured I'd eleimnate any hedging on my part. I feel better that people are saying it wasn't a bone head move. It happens.

yea an ace always does seem to flop, but luckily sometimes your opponent calls reraises preflop with a hand like 7 8 against it.

Quite often QQ/JJ/TT and you're glad you went all-in pre-flop.

All-in all the way. Your making 25% on your stack and the A/8 made a bad call (depends on their stack and total # of opps).

If they are loose and scare easily: I might consider a limp, but you are playing with fire since your are probably busted with a bad flop. In my mind any raise from you is an all-in bet.

If they are loose and dont scare easily. A 2xBB bet vs an all-in could also be a good strategy. Keep in mind, I would eventually have all my chips in the pot with KK no matter what hit on the flop/turn/river. I just might play it different if I know an all-in will definately scare them out.

I would also show them my hand after they fold (preflop) so maybe my next all-in wont get contested either.

If the blinds are bigger in the same situation, definately AI is the way to go.
