To mix it up, I like call and then go all in if raised. If not raised, see the flop. If the guy checks when the Ace comes up then bet big with a possible all-in. If the guy bets strong after the Ace is flopped, avoid going all-in if at all possible.

I think you made the stronger play, but this is just an option I like to use.
