Did I do this right??

in my session yest. a guy to my imediate left 3 bet to about 3x my opening pre raise of 4x bb. He did this 3 times in about 10 mins or so. The first and second time I folded. I never so him at showdown with any of his other hands. The third time came and I over shoved with AJo. Does his play warrant my actions? Or was this a bad play? Also should I post what he had?

Ask yourself what you're trying to accomplish given his range. What hands is he 3betting you with and what part of that range calls/folds to your 4bet shove. Without a decent sample size it's hard to tell. Anyone can get a sick run of cards. He could be 3betting with only big hands or he could be doing it with 54s. Unless he shows down or you have a good sample, I would err on the side of caution until I have a read. What's the stack sizes and other reads? Maybe post the HH.

you should also say your positions when made his 3bets vs you cause they are important

Stack sizes were 100 bb effective I had just sat at the table. He was in the cutoff the last time.

Think about what shoving is going to accomplish. Are you trying to induce a fold? If so, do you think 4betting to something like 30bbs might do the trick instead?

How much of his range do you think he'll call a shove with? Is that part of his range weak enough that you'll be ahead often enough to profit?

Man this is the type answer I was looking for. To be honest I am not sure why I shoved. I was thinking at the time that this guy was full of shit. I think I should have just 4 betted and seen what he did. I guessing if he 5bet shoves it then I am way behind unless he is a complete maniac. Thank you for the insight into your thought process this was very helpful.
