Destroying a huge stack in two hands

I post this not because I'm a great player... far, far from it. I just thought that this was probably the most amazing 5 minutes of poker I've been involved in. (Remember I am playing $10NL.) The guy started this hand with $61 and left with zero. I actually felt bad for the guy, but I kept his $$$ anyway.

First hand:

BB checks, Hero bets $1.5, MP1 calls $1.50, BB calls $1.50.

Turn: ($10.55) 8 (3 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, MP1 bets $1, BB raises to $2.3, Hero calls $2.40, MP1 calls $1.40.

River: ($17.65) 9 (3 players)
Hero bets $5.45 (All-In), MP1 calls $5.45.

Final Pot: $28.55

Results in white below:
BB has 4s 4d (one pair, fours).
Hero has Kd Ac (flush, ace high).
MP1 has 2c 2h (flush, ten high).
Outcome: Hero wins $28.55.

This was a tough hand for me. I was ready to shut down for the night with a modest profit, and I got pulled into this. I figured that they were barely pricing me in on each street, so....

I think he was amazed to get called on that silly river bet, but there were so many hands that could beat him. I think he was on tilt. At first I thought he was betting into the nuts and the worst I could do was chop, but I figured later that pocket jacks could have beaten me. I would have punched my own teeth out if he had that hand.

I'd be interested to know how you would have bet and why. I'm assuming you mean some bets are too small? I had been chasing away action all night, so was hesitant to overbet. (Believe it or not, I had hit quads 3 times that night. I think I made a grand total of about $5 combined.)

You need to be betting 1/2 - 2/3 on a non drawy board or where you want to induce some action with the nutz or something. Or, on a drawy board you need to be betting more like 2/3 - 3/4 of the pot. Its all situationally dependent but I stick mainly to th 1/2 - 3/4 pot rule unless I have some other information which will increase $$.

Its all about building the pot when you have a good hand...Granted you won a fair amount, but you got a bit lucky that the Villains were BAD.

Hand 1
a) Preflop seems fine
b) You have the nut flush draw and you only have $9 left with a $6 pot, so this is probably a push or a c/r all-in. $1.50 is just too weak. If your stack was bigger you should be betting around $4. You were lucky that both these players paid you off with 22 and 44 lol

Hand 2
1) On the flop are you trapping by checking? Do you think you might be behind? I probably check raise the flop if I'm trapping, fold to a push depending on CO reads.

2) As played you need to bet more on the turn say $1-$1.30 and the river say $2-.$2.30, obviously you have to call his push only AK and JJ are beating you and I assume his stats would be pretty donkish.

On hand 2, yes, definitely trying to trap. I thought at the time that I had the best hand and would lose action if I bet. I feel like if I had bet as you suggest, he would have folded. You are right, obviously, that the villains were bad. (How that guy ever got it up to 6x the buyin is beyond me.) I thought with a smaller bet, villain might bet big trying to push me off a draw... then I would raise.

try bet almost full pot when you consider betting in future. try it as an experiment and see what happens.

also DONT trap or slowplay. add this to the experiment.
