    Default Criteria for bad beat?

I was just surfing through the bad beat forum and I was surprised at how many hands are posted that are not bad beats (in my opinion) because the hero was totally behind either preflop or after the turn and simply refused to fold to the evidence that they were beaten as the betting progresses.

My criteria for a bad beat is the villain landing one of less than four outs on the river and taking down my hand that was dominating until then. Either that or hitting their cards after going all in preflop. This can be with trash (usually suited hitting a flush or runner runner straight) or just a lesser pocket pair.

However, betting hard into a hand, getting raised and pushing with two pair and suddenly facing trips is not a bad beat. It's bad judgement. If I run into a situation like that I usually chastise myself, not my opponent.

badbeat = getting all your chips in against opponent(s) - and being >50% favourite to win. How bad the beat is depends on how far from 50-50 it is at that point.
    That is all.
