couple of hands from 10NL

After going through some of my HH from tonight I'm not sure about how to play these 2 hands if i get into the same or a similar situation. Both of these hands were hands i folded.

#1 I had just sat down at the table and this is the first hand I'm dealt. I've never played against CO before.

#2 I really didn't know how to play this hand. I was at the table for 5-6 hands before this came down and i didn't see much of UTG in those hands. So assume no reads.

I'd fold both, but your flop bets on both look suspect (weak). I don't know if you always bet 1/2 pot but I don't think thats going to get it done. Esp in hand 1, raised and you reraise. Flop is very low, he could be playing small pp and still call. If you want to lead out, bet it like you mean it, if he calls or raises, slow down. But betting less than half pot accomplishes nothing if he has anything decent.

Hand 1 : When OOP I like to raise it up a little more, especially when there was a weak raise and a caller, Maybe 1.75 or 2.00
Flop: What is the villains stack size? Will a C-Bet get him to fold? When Villain is so short you may want to think either shove here, or fold. You didn't hit the flop, and you have a backdoor flush draw. What is villains range here?


Hand 2: AJo in MP is not a great hand, I would either limp/ or raise more .
Flop: you have middle pair. not terrible but villain could certainly have a K here. Bet more on the flop 1.50/1.75
as played I woulda folded too.

Hand 1 I am usually betting 2 or 2.25 here. Fold is fine though.

Hand 2 This is a spot I like to two barrel on turn, as played bet more on flop, river fold is fine

1) Fold is good. Flop bet should be bigger. Probably about $2.

2) Checking behind the flop isn't horrible. If you bet bet 3/4+ pot. As played lots of draws missed that river so calling isn't terrible. I still think i fold it against a 10NL unknown though because so many 10NL players are really passive. Also the PFR size is fine and AJ is a great hand to be isolating the loose passives at these tables in position.

hand 1: It's a 3bet pot so I probably fire just a little more than you did to around 1.75 but I don't think your bet is bad. I don't think (m)any villains can bluff here at 10NL nor fold overpairs.

hand 2: Bet flop harder. I fire turn again, as played it's really close. I flip a coin. Actually I probably call but I'm a station.
