    Default Common spot

    Villain is 33/9/5.3
    What's our plan?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    CO ($61.50)
    Button ($8.90)
    SB ($64.85)
    Hero ($66.50)
    UTG ($133.95)
    MP ($49.25)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, J.
UTG calls $0.50, 4 folds, Hero raises to $2, UTG calls $1.50.

    Flop: ($4.25) K, T, Q (2 players)
    Hero ???

Hmmm... initial reaction is bet, but upon reflection, there aren't that many worse hands that call (Acxc and JT are about all I can think of). If villain limps crap UTG like Kxs or Qxs, where x is < 10, then a c-bet might push him off a better hand, but I don't think it's worth it. I like c/c flop, c/c or c/f blank turn, depending on bet size/reads.

You must check. As pointed out above you are not likely ahead if called. I'd call any bet and look to lead out on the turn unless an obvious blank hits the board.

Opp is aggressive, so if we check we're giving them control of a hand we want to play. If they've seen you check the flop with strong hands before a check/call might be OK. If I'm betting here I'm probably double barrelling unless a J falls. That's assuming I think they can fold a medium hand on that scary board. Fold to a raise which kills our odds.

Intention would be not so much to get a worse hand to call, but to fold out a better hand, and hopefully allow us to keep control of our draw OOP.

Only big problem is that an aggressive player will probably reraise on that board with 2 pair, which is what we want to draw out on. Maybe a check is better. I guess stack sizes are a big consideration.

what I hate about checking here is that you "obv" have AK/AQ, so why would you check?
what I love about checking is when villian checks behind with AX and you hit your gutshot (although last time this happened to me (I think I had 45 on 23 flop), guy got gunshy with A9o! )

You basically have crapola (3rd pair + gutshot on 2 flush board).

Not a gutshot, an OESD. If it was anything less I'd be check/folding.

    Flop: ($4.25) K, T, Q (2 players)
Hero bets $4, UTG calls $4.

    Turn: ($12.25) J (2 players)
    Hero ???

Not very nice position to be in. They could easily have the straight, possibly have the flush. If they don't they may not be happy to call down with two pair on that board, so you stand to lose more than you gain. I think them holding an A here is more likely than two pair, so I might be happy to push with a boat.

I'm probably check/folding. Check/call the river if they check behind the turn. I think I might be too weak though.

    Oh, OK, better than crapola.

Check/call a reasonable bet because now you have 10 outs, and tons of implied odds--especially if he has a flush.

c/c reasonable bet. I think you're getting paid if the board pairs.

We can easily be screwed if we hit our boat with a K or Q. I don't think we're getting paid enough the times we make it and have the best hand to make up for the times we don't make it or get stacked when making it. (Wow that was a long sentence).

On the flop, do get paid enough if we hit our straight?
