cashing out

i have quite a lot of money on the internet that i want to cash out. what is the best way to cash it out? i live in england.
i have a neteller dollar account. i have a dollar and pound sterling bank accounts.

neteller won't let me cash out in pound sterling.

i want to lose as little money as possible in transferring the money. if i cashout using neteller to my sterling account, i will lose a load of money on fees and exchange rates.

how do i get my money out without losing to much money? does anyone know/have experience in cashing out to england?

If you're playing on Stars, they can send you a cheque in a number of different currencies drawn on a local (ie. UK) bank.

UB same way. If on Absolute, then free transfer to UB, and request a check. UB will overnight if it's more than $2,000 (forget exact minimum) at no additional charge.

Last time I checked on stars you are required to withdraw using the same method you transfered money to stars, at least up to the amount you deposited.

If you deposited $100 via neteller you have to withdraw the 1st $100 through neteller.
If you have a good reason not to withdraw via neteller you can contact stars support and they will let you do that, but they will not let you deposit via neteller again

Send money to bigred07 on stars. Easiest way to get your money back. It may, however, take anywhere from 2 days to 2 millennium.

If you live in the uk why did you use netteler?

Just cash out with a visa obv.

i had most of my money on neteller. i tried to cash it into party and then cash it straight out to my us dollar account without playing. they wouldn't let me do this. they say i have to cash it out to neteller.
after a lond phone conversation they let me cash out the money i already had on party to my bank. and they will let me cash out the rest of my money back to neteller without playing.

party and towergaming both make you cash out back to where you cashed in.
even after i cash out the money they allow me to cash out to my bank - i will still have a large amount of money on neteller.

Would it be a good idea to close my neteller account? Would they then be forced to send it to my bank account?
Would things be better for me if I changed my neteller account from $ to pound sterling?

I hate to say this fella, but there is no possible alternative that will not involve paying charges for converting from dollars to pounds. These charges may be separate or the may be built in but whether it's Stars, Neteller or your bank, someone will have to reclaim the costs involved.

So, do it in one go - withdraw everything you want to take out to Neteller, then withdraw the entire amount in one go to your bank.

I'm in Israel too. It's a hassle transferring funds here.

I think I'm going to close my neteller account and then cash it out thru Party and TowerGaming to my accounts, since it will be much cheaper and it will cost me like $10 only.
Does anyone see any problems with this method?

When is it customary to take this year off?
Is it customary to go to Israel to do it or can it be done in one's home country?
Is gambling inconsistent with Jewish religion, according to popular opinion?
Is gambling incompatible with Yeshiva? Again according to Wiki, it's permissible to work during Yeshiva, so if one sees themselves as a poker player by profession, is that OK?

As far as I know there are Yeshivas in other countries as well, but Israel as a religious center of the jewish religion has a lot of them and to my knowledge some of the most respectable ones
Think of it as a form of foriegn exchange students, when people from other countries come for a year of study

One of the regulars in my home game went through the process of accepting and practicing his religion seriously, when he still used to come I had some discussions with him about it, to my very limited understanding gambling is a very shady area, it is considered an 'unhonorable' way of earning an income as you take money from another without really giving him something in return, so as a profession or any kind of games for serious money it is not allowed, as far as more friendly game for fun for a relatively small amount of money it is less clear and I assume it is pretty much the Rabbi's call

It is customary for people to take this year off when they finish school (the year before Uni).
Some spend more than 1 year studying. I've decided to do 2 years. It may end up being more, but I don't have to make that decision yet.

Gambling is a shady area. No great Rabbi would ever consider gambling. My Rabbis were definitely very against me gambling.
I know that a respected Rabbi in London permits gambling for smallish amounts, but he would be gambling for the amounts of money that I play for online ($1kNL). He would not let his own children gamble.
According to Sephardic Jews, it is forbidden to gamble at all. According to Ashkenazic Jews it is a bad idea to gamble. (Sephardic Jews are from Spain, Middle East, etc.) (Ashkenazic Jews are from Germany, Poland, Lithunia, etc.).
It talks about gambling in the Talmud (San Hedrin chapter 3). The conclusion there is that gambling is permitted as long as it isn't your only job. But even so, it is considered like the dust of stealing and no learned, G-d fearing Jew would ever gamble themselves.

There are other Yeshiva's around the world, but you'll find most of them in Israel.
It isn't a custom to go to Yeshiva. By going to Yeshiva, one is spending a year learning how about Judaim and how to best serve G-d. There are people that spend 3, 4, 8, 15+ years at Yeshiva. Rabbis will have spent a fairly long time im learning. I think I will probably stay 2 or 3 years in total. One's years at Yeshiva have a big role in defining who one for the rest of their lives.
Other people in England also take a year off between school and uni, but they will probably go travelling if they took a year off.

There are many different types of Jews though, so it is hard to give you a complete answer. I've just given my opinion.

When I deposit/withdraw from Stars, they give me the same exchange rate both ways. I'm in the UK, deposit by Mastercard (get 1% cashback on it), withdraw by cheque.

But someone is charging you commission, I promise. Certainly if I make purchases with my £ credit card (Visa) in the US or Europe or anywhere, I get charged commission for doing so. I can't imagine that's not the case here? And don't Stars give you a cheque in $, which you'll then pay to have converted back into sterling? If not, this is fantastic news (especially for money launderers), but I fear there's got to be a catch.
