    Default ???Blind defense ranges???

    I tend to avoid blind protection unless it's clearly a HU pot in an ATS scenario, and even then only ~25% of the time. I think this is too thin, but is it really? How thin?

    ATS = Attempt To Steal = any raise from the CO, BTN or SB when they are first to enter the pot pre-flop

    Is my definition correct?

    My current range for defending is:
    { 22+,A5s+,K8s+,Q9s+,J9s+,T9s,98s,87s,76s,65s,A9o+,K To+,QTo+,JTo,T9o,98o }

    I'm trying to run (roughly) 25/18/10 in these spots. (I usually run about 21/17/7)
    Am I doing it wrong?

    What's a good range for defending the BB or SB in an ATS scenario?
    Do you defend your SB and BB with the same range?
    What do you require on the flop for a C-bet?

    You should be significantly tighter in the SB then the BB as A) You have another player to act and B) You have to pay more then in the BB

    The only comment I'm going to make on playing from the blinds is that everyone(almost) plays far too tight and is basically lighting money on fire.

    @ bikes: It was comments in your videos that got me thinking I might be playing my blinds completely wrongly.

    I had been going from a "learn from the pros" video tip from FT. Someone said for the small blind, take 1/(# of players) for your range. So 11% at FR and 17% at 6max. Then ramp up your range as you get to the button, where you should be playing ~33%. This helped me out a lot when I was just a guppy and then again when I was playing SNG's and constantly adjusting to shorter and shorter handed play.

    However, now you got me thinking that I'm "lighting money on fire" so I've started defending more. I'm not sure how wide to defend and should I only adjust for ATS situations and not pots limped from EP/MP?

    Are there any threads on FTR that discuss blind defense?

    If not, bikes, would you care to open a discussion? I know that you have a better grasp of this concept than most.

    I think calling 22-66 to a steal is a leak, ask bikes. I had him go over a session of mine, and I called a steal with 22, which prompted the response "wtf? this is a fold against anybody". They flop like shit, and when we do bink, we're playing oop against a wide range that doesn't pay us often enough.

    Also, I'm not sure why you're playing A6s but not A3s.
