    Default best advice

    Hi everyone
Would like some feed back on some of the best advise you have received (stategy, when to play tight, when to bluff or whatever)
I have been reading alot of post on here lately, which has help me like you wouldn't believe. (no deposits needed in over a month and im actually withdrawing money for a change) The tips iv'e picked have been great, and the generally knowledge people are prepared to post have been helping my understanding of this game come along in leaps and bounds.
PS: My 10 year old daughter loves to play this game as well (ONLY PLAY, NOT REAL MONEY) but me and my mates are surprised how well she plays, You guys and Gals should watch out when she reaches the legal age to play, she will do alot better than me.My wife told me i shouldnt be showing her how to play but what do you think? Renton's Strat post is great, it helped me out immensely , also Pokey on the "other site" has a great post about stealing blinds which was great for me because i rarely stole blinds before in NL cash games.....

The thread involving the way ahead/way behind concept with regards to holding KK when an ace falls was a great discusison that has made a lot of money for me and helped give me a strategy to apply when facing many different difficult situations.

The best advice that I have been given is to respect other peoples raises. I use to always think that people were bluffing, but a lot of the time they had me beat. I am still aggressive but I make sure I call on my terms now and not someone elses.

Stop withdrawing, you will make more if you get the bankrollto improve.

Gap concept is a good one. Understanding position and implied odds are good too.

Well, obviously, it's not worth rocking the marital-harmony boat over something like that. So try to appreciate your wife's wishes.

That said if you're daughter is truely interested in poker she's probably going to start playing sooner or later, so why not teach her a bit.

Teach her good BR management and how to handle a bad beat and I'd say you've done her a solid for life...

you kind of have to look at it this way. if you teach her how to play poker, and play it well, she will learn many valuable skills: how to deal with variance, math/odds, people reading skills, patience and discipline.

You will also teach her how to become a gambler, which may or may not be good.

most importantly, you will probably create someone who from a very young age will be figuring out the EV of every single life situation she comes across. and you have to decide if this is the type of person you want your daughter to be, and if that is the childhood you would like her to have.
