Default Bankroll building - NLHE or LHE

    Hi,

So, I'm a good tournament player and I'm a good NL ring player. I'm only a mediocre limit player. I don't know why, I just am.

My bankroll sits at about $350 right now for online. Is microstakes NL a bad choice here? .10/.20 with $10 buy in (Covers me for 35 buy ins) or should I step up to something with a $20 buyin, or, stick with limit play.

My limit play has been kicking my ass lately. I haven't been making bad decisions, I've just been getting rivered left and right by idiots who think 8 3 off is the bomb and land their second pair on the river against me.

Guess my question for you online pros is this a viable way to go about building a BR, through micro NL? Or will I more than likely regret it? NL is definitely my stronger suit but I don't think I'm a horrible limit player either.

    Thanks,
    dzl

I think you should play whatever game your more comfortable with.

There's no single 'right' way to build a bankroll. Some people here are very good limit players, some are better 'no limit' players. Some play ring, others play SnG's or MTT's (or a combination of the 3).

The best way to build a bankroll is to play the games you're strongest in at limits that are comfortable for you.

Again, no single right or wrong way to do it...whatever you're comfortable with. If you really want to build a BR I would suggest bonus whoring at online poker rooms and casinos.

I hear you about the bonus whoring. Doesn't seem like $350 is enough to achieve easy whoring though. I'd have to play low stakes at multiple sites forever and it doesn't seem like it'd be worth it..

It can be done. And if you are willing to toss some casinos into the whoring mix, $350 will do nicely.
    I'm a know-it-all.

    No, really.

Planetluck and Starluck both only need $100 to whore. Start there. You can also do CasinoOnNet which is ZERO risk (since you can withdraw immediatly after deposit and only play with the bonus money). Whore it up

Just play the game you think you are best at, with stakes you can afford.

Also, RESPECT YOUR BANKROLL. Don't tank and start making poor decisions just 'cause you're up a few hundred.

Also, keep in mind that these "idiots" are often actually making the correct play mathematically. Controlling the pot odds you offer your opponent is a difficult thing in structured limit play.
