It seems that out of any hand, AQ is a hand that seems to trouble me consistently. I usually played 6 max tables where the value of this hand is greatly increased, but recently I switched to full ring and as expected I've had difficulty adjusting. But it seems to me that A Q has given me the most grief. 25 Nl for the most part by the way (I'm mainly a tournament specialist.)
The question basically is: How do you play AQ in certain situations? In early position I strugge laying it down even though I know thats a pretty common and correct play. I can get away from it facing a preflop raise ahead of me, but what flusters me is that quite often I'll see the pfr showdown AJ, A 10, KQ, and other mediocres. I don't have any really specifics as I really wanna see what you seasoned player's approach is to this hand in many situations.
The only hand I really remember taking down a significant pot with this hand is when I was playing full ring and I was in early position and limped, another following me limped and then an aggresssive player raised it to 4x BB on the button. The blinds pass and then I re-raise making it appear that I was alot strong then I was and the other limper and the raises both fold earning me a nice pot(I commonly employ this tactic in tournies when I'm mid-low stack.)
Thanks in advance.
