Is this almost always a made set and is it okay to assume so and fold given the fact we have no information on villain?

You should raise more pf especially with AJ in EP. He might called with a pair (55/88 is likely) so I wouldn't bother to fold this hand.

Did he do such things in the previous hands? If yes, did he have a good hand or was it a bluff?

Why don't you put him on a range of hands. Do this before you raise and figure out whether you are willing to stack off with your current hand vs. that range. If the answer is yes then go ahead and raise. If the answer is no then either just call or be prepared to fold to a raise though I don't know why you'd want to raise TPTK on a flop like this with the intention of folding.

That said, I actually like your bet sizing here if you are planning to stack off for value with TPTK. Since the pot will be 7.05 you can shove your remaining 7 for value on a blank turn and not give FDs the correct odds to call.

In a 3bet shove situation like this, I treat unknown villains as if they're holding the top of their range (which you haven't included in your post) until they show otherwise. Fold.

How do I put an unknown opponent on a range if I haven't had the opportunity to see what he shows down with? Should I put him on a "default" range in these situations & assume the worst every time? I figured I am ahead of any jack and FD/OESD, only losing to a set or an overpair (the latter being less likely with the flat call pre), so yes, by raising the flop I had the intention of putting all my money in here with some confidence. Was this a viable analysis?

I'm no expert, but why would you be trying to go broke so fast? What's wrong with taking it slow against an unknown villain? Just looking at the stacks it seems like he's made $9 bucks minimum during his stay at the table. TPGK isn't worth a stack in my opinion.

What happened? Did you call or fold?
