Don't be afraid of getting into tough spots. A spot is tough only when you are uncertain of what to do.
You are uncertain of what to do only when two (or more) options seem equally good.
If two (or more) options seem equally good, then it's not possible to lose much or gain much. Therefore, if you're in a tough spot, it doesn't matter what you do.

the two options may seem equally good, they probably aren't. And tough spots often include a load of variety in the options = >2 options. Call or fold vs allin excluded of course.
