50nl pure nuts vs 90-6

villain is 90-6 over 20, i'm 40-30 over these same 20 hands cos the table isn't adapting. Fish chat indicates he thinks i'm maniac. Standard?

or, is pre too marginal?

I make it 12 on the turn cos I odn't wanna scafre him off. I mean ffs, the dude is a 90-6, he prob doesn't understand that people bluff, this is fps imo

I like the line. Someone running 90-6 will prolly look at that and talk himself into a call "just to keep you honest."

baudib's $12 does the job. I mean I don't think anywhere from $10-$15 is a huge mistake, but when he's pretty committed regardless, I'm more inclined to make it a little smaller than 15 to encourage more calls from the bottom of his range (which is why shoving is ugly)

This guy is not folding anything he called flop with.

I think baudib means for a bet of $12 not necessarily $35 all in.

@daven: I don't think there's any reason you need to try to level a 90-6 into getting it in when you already have a maniac image. Just bet enough so you can shove for ~1/2 pot on the river

I know what he means, I'm suggesting that a $10 bet gets called by the shit part of villain's range a little more easily than a $15 bet does. Villain is committed on the river either way, so why not coax another call from J8o? If stacks were deeper on the turn I'd say just pot it or overbet, but they're not, so why not try to squeeze a little more value out of the absolute shit end of his range?

Like I said, not a huge deal either way, but I think it's slightly more +EV to bet smaller than 15.

there are a lot of weird hands in his range that have baby equity, stuff like JT and KT which aren't leaving vs $10 on the turn but are likely folding vs a shove and are far more likely to fold vs $15 than vs $10.

What was your thinking behind the shove?

at the time i was playing with the bet size slider and thinking:
a) loads of river cards that scare him into folding
b) he had reason to believe i was bluffy and fos
c) he likes calling
so i just shoved cos i got confused. I do this more often with draws than with nutted hands vs regs, and with nuts vs fish. I think i may overbet shove turns too often
in this hand he snap-called A6o, but i don't like the shove at all now.

Results indicate it was master play tho.

Indeed, but that kinda thinking reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons where Homer averts a nuclear disaster by covering his eyes and mashing the buttons.

I think in very specific cases vs. unique villains with the right image you have to really throw any kind of standard plays out the window and be completely exploitative, especially when you consider what this is going to do for your image with the rest of the table.

Consider how unlucky it is to find a 90/6 donk into you on a scary board. He's not folding Ax or flush draws, he's probably not folding JT.
