Default 5/nl Sng Ahead of Flush Draw - Push

I am not sure what the correct move is when I am in a situation where I have a set or 2pr against a heavy draw board. My typical move is to push and hope for the best. However, since I have been losing quite a few of these to the made draw I thought I would ask for some advice.

Maybe it's better to half bet the pot and run like a chicken if it hits?

    Your thoughts?

2 pair or a set on a wet board i'd recommend a 3/4psb, upto a psb. We want the villain to chase. I'm inferring from your post that you lack some fundamental understanding, i recommend reading http://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerfo...re-123008.html

By betting 1/2psb you are giving the villain odds to chase.

Openside, thanks for the response. With all due respect I do lack some fundamental understanding that is why I posted. I have read, and read, and read. Most conversation concerning this topic is whether to call or not if you are the person drawing. I have not found anything concerning "the right play" when you know the villian is drawing in a SNG situation.

The 1/2psb was a bad number to use. I suppose I should have said something in the order of "are we trying to get all of villians chips in the middle asap" or do we make bets that dont give him the proper odds to call.

It seems to me that fold equity has to be a major factor in this decision.

For example if this is the start of a tounament (1500 chips) and the blinds are 20-40 and Hero is dealt Pocket A's and 3bets there will be 300 chips in the middle after the villian calls.

    Flop is

Hero bets 300 and villian calls. (900) chips in the pot

    Turn is

If Hero bets 900 and river is spade, then hero only has 180 chips left and he should have put them all in the middle anyway.

If Hero had only 3/4 bet the pot he would have 593 chips to play when the spade hits but he is still going to be in a bad situation.

If hero had shoved after the turn he had huge fold equity.

Anyhow I am still unsure how to properly play in this situation.

The right play is easier if you hit rather than if you are chasing. You want them to chase. Chasing requires an accurate assumption of the implied odds. If you hit don't give them odds to chase. Whether they do or not is irrelevant, its +EV. I think a bet on the flop is > than a shove. You are allowing them to play perfectly by shoving. I'd bet 3/4psb - psb.

If they call the bet on the flop and the flush didnt hit then its a shove on the turn. They will shut down on the river if the flush misses so you arent getting any more value. If they flopped the nuts, unlucky, do the same thing next time.
If the flush hits on the turn check behind them and hope for the boat. If your oop and they bet then its a simple pot/implied odds calculation to see if you have equity to c/c and chase your boat. I say simple bc you know they are getting it all in on the river.
