i've found that having certain high expectations for myself has been mega -EV. underpromise and over deliver to yourself. you don't need to worry about setting the bar too low or any crap like that because it's a card game if you enjoy it as much as you'll need to to become a 100NL player, then you'll likely be able to go above and beyond. if you expect somehting like 10BB/100 or even like $5 an hour right off the bat then the first time you get stacked with your AA against some a-hole donk, then you're going to go on donk fest and piss all your money away trying to make it up (or at least that's how it worked for me).

goal #1: achieve >0.00BB/100 over 2500 hand sample.
