3 simple questions

First of all, first post, Hi everyone.

Secondly im sorry if it isnt in the right place but it seemed the best place to post these q's.

1: Can you check on river right round the table or does there have to be some sort of betting. (I think no you can all check then show cards)

2: If I am heads up and I raise and they call and we are on the river as he called me do I show first or as he called does he show first? (I think as I am called I show first)

3: The first 2 rounds of betting the minimum is equal to the small blind and the last 2 rounds of betting must be equal or greater than the big blind?

Yes, you can check round.

If your opponent called, you show first. Although in practical terms it makes little difference, you should always be showing your cards first in a live game if you think you have the best hand, no matter who bet and who called (it's etiquette).

In Limit holdem, the first 2 rounds of betting are equal to the big blind. The turn and river are double the big blind (called a big bet). In No limit, the minimum bet is one big blind on all streets, but you can just go nuts after that.

Ok thanks for that, definitely cleared that up for me.

In Q2 the reason i asked is if I think I have the best hand but it ends up I don't through misreading or just bad betting, and I call someones bet and they show first and win, I can then fold my cards without the table seeing what I was going for or had but you recon its normal etiquette to show anyway?

Don't overvalue mucking your hand. For people just starting out, our live poker regs here recommend showing ALL your hands at the river. Read this thread to see why.

At the games I play at it really depends on the host. I know that I play with one guy that wants to see all the cards at showdown and the cards speak. At another you need to know what you have and say it when you turn your cards over.

I agree you shouldn't overvalue a muck.

It was interesting reading for sure, it sort of said that you may be up against poor players and your hand actually beats theirs. So show to get paid.
