thanks. I ran into huge lag issues last time i tried to make a vid. Maybe time to try again!
here are some comments on the first 9 minutes. I'll watch the rest later.
ok, first comment.
You're playing 60bb deep. There is a huge thread (fnord started it i think) here on FTR about playing halfstack poker. Find it. Read it.
Also, consider playing 100bb deep at some stage - especially cos only a few players here on FTR can provide appropriate analysis on such shallow situations. I'm curious about your reasoning for playing 60bb, you have 25 full buyins, so you obviously do have a reason. It seems to me that playing 60bb instead of 100bb at micros is burning money.
JTo button hand at 2minutes. You can c-bet smaller. Consider how often your cbet has to win the pot for it to be profitable (assuming no further bets etc). If you bet pot on the flop it has to work 50% of the time, if you bet 75% pot it has to work 43%, if you bet 70% pot it has to work 41% etc. Also, you're 2-tabling. Take some notes. Villain called blinds, c-folded low tt flop
sb hand. You said a leak is completing sb hands with junk = agreed. Vs a serial fold-to-steal type you should be stealing junk there though. Especially as villain in the hand (about 2:25?) is pfr 2%.
88 Q high flop hand. I don't like your cbet sizing again. Too big. You are betting for value and protection, but they aren't calling big bets with many hands that you beat. You said "we get both of them to fold" - this suggests that you think you were bluffing? but you weren't. Think about value vs bluffing and gaining max value from hands rather than simply winning pots.
5Q hand. Your reasoning for betting the river is that "it is fairly likely they don't have anything" = you would win the pot anyway. Go back to the reasons for betting:
1) better hands will fold
2) worse hands will call
3) protection
none of these apply in this spot. as played it is obviously an easy fold.
AQs on K33 at 5:44. I don't understand your flop raise. You say something like "i raise to see where I'm at". Please don't. Please instead stick to the 3 reasons listed above. For what it's worth, I call the flop raise and re-assess on the turn. I play fullnit though.
99 vs bet-3-bet oop = easy fold. NH. Now, take notes that villain bet-4-bet A5o, and villain 3-bet-called vs a fish with ATo. Don't spend ages analysing your play, fold was fine - forget the results after you've taken the notes.
re - it being cool to be able to beat a level = I hear ya. Applies to all levels! I think you can beat micros even harder/faster 100bb deep though - based on this small vid you're easily in the top 10% of 2nl players, probably the top 2% cos you mentioned position more than once.
you say that higher stakes concepts don't apply. That's not quite correct. Position is a high stakes concept. So is c-betting. So is range. You use all of these concepts. Main difference is bluff less and value more at micros.
