    Default 25/50 nl

I was watching and i notice theres like one 7k pot for every small 125 ones... so i was thinking as a player whats the basic strategy for playing this type of game because i plan on playing there once i get the ole roll built up. Should i play more hands or just wait for hands like everyone else?

Are you talking about the 5000NL game? No offense but I'd say you probably aren't ready if you're asking a question like this.
Wikipedia is the best thing ever. Anyone in the world can write anything they want about any subject. So you know you are getting the best possible information.

This is a pretty silly question for someone who thinks they're ready for this kind of game - the answer is you play a winning game.

Why would you play more hands? This is novice logic - the more hands I play, the more I'll win, right??

Of course there's going to be big pots if people are buying in for $5k - its all going to be relative to the buy-in. They'll be playing a normal game because their bankroll will be relative to their buy-in.

As a player what would the best strategy be? The best strategy is going to be to buy in at stakes you can easily afford so that you are able to play the cards and the players without fear.

Your very question suggests you're a long way from being ready to play this game.

My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

Just play position, read the players well, maximize profits on your winning hands, loose the least on your loosing hands and in general just outplay everyone. Beating 5k NL is easy, and I'm certain you are ready. Good luck!

Wanna play Heads-Up 200NL with me? I'm serious.

By the way you can start thinking about 5000NL when you have a bankroll of about 200k$ or more. Until then you should concentrate on playing me HU to win some monies.

I suggest playing 0.25/0.5 NL for practise. Pots there are sometimes $2, and sometimes they're like $75. Once you work out how to play there you can just multiply your numbers by 100 and hit the $5000 tables.

There are some big fish in that game who play regularly. Try to play lots of hands with BoostedJ and bldWSTERS for example, those guys are easy money.

why would a 5knl shark be excited if OP only had a 5k roll?

Cause a donk and his roll are soon parted.

Don't, you'll win the blinds until someone calls.

shoving worse than JJ+, AK for 20BB in the stars 25/50 game is really terrible. You'll need to play postflop somewhat to win.
