I've been running pretty solid at the table 15/13/8.0 in the last ~75 hands... auto-muck is on and only showdown good solid hands...

my friend and i where having a discussion with this hand and he thinks i played like a total donk and i tried to explain to him given reads and such but he was so adamant i'm having self doubt now so please feedback?..

UTG is same villain as HAND 1, UTG+1 38/1/3.2 @ ~50 hands, MP is 31/4/1.5... my reads for for villains are pocket pairs >99s or connectors <QJ...

we're clearly not trying to isolate anyone with this preflop raise as we have a drawing hand... just trying to juice up the pot here...

Hand 1: I raise pre-flop here to steal. If your read on villain is correct, he's raising with any piece of the board. I'm happy getting it in with this guy with TP.

Hand 2: I like it. UTG+1 bet here is so weak. Tell your friend he needs to learn how to play poker.

Hand 1: I don't think I would raise this flop, I would probably just call and see another street. As played, I might fold. If its a mistake to fold, its a small mistake and you haven't really invested too much money in the pot.

Hand 2: I think a more isolating raise would be a good idea, especially if you are going to raise a flop with a draw. I think the flop raise is too small, I would probably have raised it up to around 1.50. It makes UTG+1 pretty committed, and if he flats, you are priced to call a shove on a non-heart turn.

i hand one if he is really a maniac then folding would be terrible. The only question is do we raise or call.

What are you hoping to acheive with that little flop raise in hand 2? I can't see any reason for it. He's giving us awesome odds to just call and we don't need to worry so much about building a pot, since he'll have less than a PSB left on the turn anyways. If you're gonna raise here at least put him AI so there is the teenyist chance he folds a better hand.

1. A passive line is probably best here. No reason to think our hand isn't good.

2. I agree with your friend on this one. Both preflop and flop plays are just horrible.

First one I would call and just c/c turn. Unlikely that he's going anywhere in this hand, and top pair is solid enough against a maniac.
Preflop I don't hate the limp because of the villains stats. He's unlikely to raise this up preflop, and you can pretty much play profitable fit-or-fold on the flop.

Second one is absolutely horrible in every way imaginable.
You have a hand that plays very well multi-way IP, but you choose to isolate... with 3 limpers... at 10NL! Your bet is WAY too small to isolate, so all you're doing is bloating the pot - they're absolutely correct to call with whatever they limped with.
On the flop you get perfect odds to call, but you semi-bluff... 1/2 pot! It's 4-way so it's pretty damn likely somebody has a hand they can call you with getting 3:1... so again. All you're doing is bloating the pot when you're most likely behind.

Yes, but damn I thought MP1 raised preflop. My bad. I love our hand here. I will edit my response.

As said before, be happy to get it in on Hand 1. I'm not sure I'd shove, but a reraise is good.

Hand 2, I don't think the preflop raise is so terrible, but DON'T raise the flop. He's handing you perfect odds to make your flush, don't get greedy, because you can't really call if he plays back at you strong.

In hand 1, I would just flat his small 3b and c/c both streets
this is because while our hand is good, it's a mistake getting it in
it's much better to let him bluff at it because he's very aggressive and will do that with a wider range of hands than he would call a large 4b with

in hand 2, I'd overlimp, and your raise does nothing, either bump it up to like .70-.80 or don't do it
as played, on the flop I have like huge odds to draw to my flush
that raise you made isn't going to make him go away
I'd either raise big or just call
but it looks like a call here because you have such great odds to hit our hand and he's probably not folding a king even to a large bet

Hand 1 - I'd just call his raise here and let him bet into me on the turn and river. Unless a 10 comes out I'm not raising.

Hand 2 - While I like playing drawing hands like this sometimes, I don't understand your raise. Seems kinda pointless to me. I think you're telegraphing your moderate hand. I wouldn't say that you played this like a donk, but you're certainly lucky on the flop. Best if you just call his raise. He has a K and I don't see him going anywhere and you can maximize your winnings if you hit your flush.
