Default 10NL: AA OOP turn c/r AI goot?

Villain is 36/9/5.8. No specific reads except he's really aggro on all streets, likes to pot bet everything. My plan on the turn if the flush draw didn't complete was c/r AI, pricing him in to play his Q or whatever he caught on the flop. SPR is a bit fucky on the turn, he has 7.40$ behind so I can't get it all in now without a c/r really. If he had checked behind I would have an easy value bet on a blank river. I'm really wondering about this line, I don't really like it in retrospect but am trying to justify it to myself. :P Is this a good time to do it or am I FPSing?

    Absolute/UB Cereus No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (6 handed) - Absolute/UB Cereus Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    BB ($15.85)

    CO ($2.45)

Hero bets $1.30, MP calls $1.30, 1 fold

    Turn: ($4.10) 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $4.25, Hero raises to $17, MP calls $3.15 (All-In)

don't check turn, just bet it
if he checked turn back with a flush draw and got there on the river you'd be pissed
or if he had a queen, checked it and the flush draw got there and he like folded river you'd be pissed

I mean it sucks if he calls the turn and fold river unimproved, but the concern for getting outdrawn for $4 + whatever he gets you to put it in on the river is bigger than the concern for the remaining $3 in his stack

play it this way against people who will bluff turns or something

Ok, I thought so (in retrospect).

It still seems weird to leave 3$ effective stacks for the river. I mean, would you then fold the river when the flush comes in getting a bit better than 1/4 odds? What about open shoving turn? I can't see anything I beat calling me except maaaaybe a decent Q or the draw if he's really a chaser; everything else he'd call a shove here with has me beat.

His range after flop would be: 22, 66-TT, KQ, Q9+, Q6s, and a lot of diamonds (am I missing anything obvious here?). Considering how aggro he is, and I've seen him making these pot/slightly over pot bets a LOT before, his range on the turn is still similar, possibly decreasing the chance that he has diamonds and increasing the chance he has a set, since it's such a huge bet. However, I don't give him much credit at this point. I c-bet a lot, so my flop c-bet doesn't mean I have anything, and the table knows it, I've been pushing them around on the flop tons but normally chill with the bigger bets on the turn/river so my check on the turn looks really weak.

Ok I'm rambling so I'll stop. Thanks for the feedback iopq.

Nah, you had a read and went for it. NH. Nothing wrong with going beyond standard play if you have a read/reason for doing so. Just dont do it because you feel like getting fancy. Most times just bet/bet/bet this hand, but I like it as played.
Just dipping my toes back in.

he's shortstacked + a read that sounds solid? Why not?

well if I bet the turn, there is no way he can make a profitable call with a flush draw even if I pay him off every time so yeah I'm calling a river donk shove on that board even though it's kind of sick because he can sometimes donk shove a queen for value since he doesn't want us to check it back
I mean if you really think he's going to bet that turn a lot, then it's fine, but I would be worried about him checking back normally

so it's like the more sure you are of your read the better this play becomes so after your second post I thought "well this is probably justified then"

but another factor against fish is that if you make turn like $3 so it's $10 pot with $4 in his stack, he can't fold a pair on the river because the pot is so big... and of course the fish don't understand they can't call a bet on the turn with crap in this spot with these stacks
but if he has something like TT he would check the turn back to get to showdown, but he might feel tarped into calling a river bet because he's already put so much money in
