Default 100 NL and the Check-Raise

I've been jumping limits a little bit...I was playing 25NL for a while working on playing a little LAG, and just to be able to win a bit more easily...

In any event, I've moved back to 100NL, and was playing 6-max.

I'm raising more hands than usual, but not an absurd amount. My problem is this: I've been check-raised TO DEATH! I coudln't tell you how many times it's happened. Nearly always a check-minraise, not any certain kind of board.

Just wondering what strategy you guys might suggest; why are they doing this? What's your play without a hand? What if you don't have a hand five times in a row? How do you play when you have a hand?

no reason to bet full pot as a continuation bet into 2 opps.

I bet the pot on any hand when I bet the flop, with some drawing-hand exceptions.

Isn't the rule generally to bet what you would bet if you hit?

Sure, but it might be more profitable to bet 2/3 of the pot when you hit as well... some draws might stay in even though they're not getting the proper odds

you could also vary your bets randomly if you play a lot with the same people

2/3 pot is less risk, gets roughly the same results, and nets more money in the long run.

If you were going to reraise tehre, you probably should have raised to $40. But I would have folded. The reraise there should tell you that he either likes his overpair and won't let go or he has a set.

These hands happened to me frequently. I often felt like the op was just running me down so I'd 3-bet him only to have him 4-bet me (which turns out to be the perfect bet against me if you wants mah monies. Pisses me off to no end. I end up letting the clock tick down then push. Sometimes they fold, sometimes the call. Jury is still out.

In that case, yeah. You did good.

I just did something like this a second ago; teh guy reraised, then I pusehd, thinking he'd let go of top pair there, if he had even that. He then called with aces. whoops...

Well keep this in mind: a check-raise is always done by someone out of position. So use this to your advantage.

I never reraise a flop (and rarely a turn) check-raise, that gives them WAY too much information, and check-raises are rarely done by drawing hands, so you dont have to worry about them sucking out on you. When they are obligated to bet on the turn, this gives you a big advantage, you can decide based on how big their bet is what to do from there.

I would start running bear traps on these guys. Just call their raise and let them bet out on the turn and river and let 'em walk right into your good hands. If they slow down, bluff 'em out. Its great to have someone betting into you, you get a lot of info about their hand while they get no info about your hand.
