No real reads on him, except that you took a big pot from him with A9, when you had top pair, and he had middle pair.

You lost most of it back, when you got outkicked on top pair.

Anyways, your QJs looks good, and you pet the pot (30). He rerasies another 120 on top. You call. (Pot is at 320)

I called. (Bad move, good move, should I have reraised?)

What I did in white below
I reraised for the pot, which I think was a huge mistake. I put him on a smaller pocket pair than the Q's. I thought that his underbet of the pot was a sign of weakness, not strenght, and he would fold. Even though I thought that, I bet the wrong amount. I should have just reraised him to make it 300 to go, enough to let his 2 outer hand go, and I could get away with my hand if he cold called then bet on the turn, or reraised me again. Well, he pushed all in, and I had to call at that point (putting him on AA or KK). He flipped over 77 for his set, and I'm out the door. I also didn't consider his reraise preflop as much as I should have. All in all, I played this hand very badly.

if it's the 20th hand and i'm assuming there are between 8-10 still in it, why get involved with QJ, even if it is suited

i suppose petting the pot is ok ( i'm sorry - i just couldn't resist!), but betting the pot when the pot is 30 doesn't really mean much. if i were going to play this, it's either a limp at 20 (with a fold to any raise) or 3-4 X BB to give people something to think about.

like a bad horror movie - "get out!" - i think the call was a bad move, and i don't like a reraise here - with the previous pot-sized bet, a reraise comes across as a bluff.

"get out!" - you've got top pair with a marginal kicker and he's firing into you - i'd really be thinking he hit his set.

I think you played it pretty okay. Except for raising so much, and then calling his re-raise. I would have raised about $150. You are essentially saying, I have a piece of the flop- do you have anything better? He replied with his reraise. And you should have listened to him. Based on his preflop play it would be correct to put him on overpair, KQ, AQ or trips when he re-raised you.

Oops, I think there might be some confusion...It wasn't a full sng, just a 1vs1 game. Not sure who got that and who didn't.

If it was a full game, it would be a completely diffent scenerio.

sorry, that was me - i thought you meant it was down to you and one other person in a full SNG.

although, based on his betting, i'm pretty much still agree with my original comments.

even one on one, the way he was betting, i wouldn't be feeling real warm and fuzzy with my jack kicker.

Preflop, after running the numbers to make sure I was roughly correct, you are ahead of 65% of the hands out, and approx. coinflip to many others, and a huge dog to some.
