Now given that you've played for some time now, what are your stats (low buy-in MTTs) using this patient approach? ROI?

I think this method will consistently get you itm at a rate much better than most (i.e. around 20-25%). I don't see how it will get you to a final table unless the deck just starts slamming you in the face late.

Hey chard, has your r/a strategy evolved at all since your wrote your guide? I'd love to hear about it...

My first hour changes consistently - it totally depends on my table whether I go aggro loose that first hour or whether I play very tight.

After the first hour - my play has always depended more on reads than on my cards, so that hasn't really changed.

Nice! What site are you playing MTT's on? Stars? Want to play some myself also, but looking for a good tourney pokerroom.

bodog, the mtt comp is pretty easy ive been able to final table 3 times in 2 days including a win of almost a grand. Ive only played in like 5 mtts aswell so im kinda likeing them more than the sngs at the moment

Dont expect that you can maintain that winrate.. (thatd be pretty great tho)... MTT's are weird. I played about 20 MTT's and only got in the money 2 times, then on my 21st i took down a 1500 player field for 1.5K. You can easily go south from here and not win for a very long time.. your beggining has been promising but don't hang your hopes on you first few shots.

yea i feel ya, i wasnt expecting to become an instant millionaire, just happy that following the basic guidelines worked, i just got 10th in another one today though so i guess im just rushing, lost a lot of money in everything else though so its alright i guess
