Playing out of position is just the worst. I feel like you have to bet on the flop, but on the turn I would probably just check/call. If he possibly connected with the straight draw on the flop, then the 5 had to help him a little bit.

Keeping the pot small, then you won't have to deal with a huge bet/raise on the river with only one pair
