Im looking at it again, and this may seem super donkish, but I only now realize I was open ended after the turn. Should I have called at this point?

Also, I wasn't thinking. I was hoping he had a small or middle pair on the flop and might lay it down to more pressure on the turn. I played the hand poorly and didn't consider strongly enough that he may have drawn out on me.
No, you dont have odds to call with the OESD. You wont hit often enough to make up for the times you lose in that spot.

What you've done is called a semi-bluff. Its basically a bluff, but you could hit on the river, and if you do your hand might be more hidden than if you'd checked turn. You basically want him to fold though. The decision you need to make is, would you prefer to bluff here, or check and hope he checks as well, or bets little enough to give you correct odds to call and draw to your straight.

Either one is fine, but you should be thinking before betting about whether thats the best move or not. Dont automatically fire a 2nd barrel just because someone called your c-bet, have a reason for doing it.
