Hey - still trying to set up my match with Mojo ---I have a break at 430 today and 730 ---trying to play The Greatest OFC PLAYER of ALL TIME (Onebyphi) at the same times ...so we'll see what happens. We'll see who gets a hold of me first.

I'm going to withdraw from this event if I sit at a table for another 30 minutes and no opponent shows up. I have wasted so much of my time trying to schedule matches and it's all frustration and missed appointments. (I've missed my share, so no blame to be spread.)

I'm not having any fun in this event... because of all the frustration around missed matches and an overwhelming lack of playing OFC... which wouldn't bother me at all except for the expectation of playing.

I will check back to this thread / my PM's today at noon (3 hours from now) and again tomorrow (Thursday) at noon. If someone suggests a time to sit at a table, I will do my best to be there. If I haven't played all of my scheduled matches by the end of Friday, I will withdraw from this event.

I'm happy to run the event without playing, so no worries there.

MMM over schmondex with 20 points.

schmondex made a solid comeback, closing a 90 point game down to 20 in the final rounds.

    Tight game.

I'm sorry, but this event is closed for registration. However, there will be a ladder match (tournament) starting as soon as this round robin ends (it could be a couple of months to go.) I'd love to see you and your friends join that event.

If there is enough interest, I can hold a single-elimination bracket tourney any time, really. However, the events with cash prizes are more rare. By "enough interest" I mean 8 - 16 people who want to play.

Just out of curiosity, if the prize was not a cash prize, would you still be interested?
What would you like to see in the prize pool (taking into account that the entry is free, so the value of 1st prize should be <$10 and the value of 2nd <$5.)

I don't know how to read an email without an "@" and a "." Did you mean

    Thanks.

MMM over MeGrimlock with 50 points.

I have to attribute it mostly to rungood.

OhEfSEAbiscuit... please hit me up to play our round 4 match. I have sent you a couple of PM's, so I'm trying the thread.

This game has crazy variance. I was about as lucky in this match as I was unlucky in the last one.

    GratefulDead +65
    Wfmn1 -65

no real big hands (expect 1 Straightflush and 1 or 2 rounds with more than 20 points)

In addition to this league, I want to do a separate turbo ladder if we can get enough players. It will mean more action and less waiting.

Please reply in the http://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerfo...er-197469.html thread if you're interested.

    Thanks.

I see 3 games left to play in round 5 (and my match with OhEfSEAbiscuit still outstanding from round 4).

If I've missed some results, let me know. I am aware of 1 of the games being halted mid-way through due to shaky internet.

We might be well served to think about how to handle a person claiming computer problems when there's a time-out.

I had a legitimate time-out in my first match, because I was using the chat and I wasn't watching the clock. OK, my bad.
However, if I time-out because my laptop hit the "blue screen of death"

("If this is the first time you've seen this message"... !!! What is it 1995 again? First time I've seen that? What kind of passive-aggressive BS are you getting at, blue screen of death?)

    *ahem*

Is it fair to call the timed out round a mis-deal and replay the round? Or is that unfair to the person who didn't time out?
  16. #241
In the suspended game you mentioned, MeGrimlock and I had discussed the possiblility in adavance and had agreed how to deal with it before the glitch happened (he knew his connection was dicey). In the hand that froze, I was in great shape, with KK on top, and I had just drawn the 3rd nine for my back hand. I still had to make the mid, but I had a quality draw. But none of that mattered because we had talked though the spot in advance, so I didn't play out my draw, and I let my timer expire too. MeGrimlock and I are going to play out the match from the point of the end of the previous deal in just a few minutes.

This is just my 2 cents, but we aren't playing for big money, and I presume everyone in the league is honorable, so I would suggest that if the spot should ever come up again before the tourney is over, the route MeGrimlock and I are taking serves the interest of fair play best.
  17. #242
In the suspended game referenced above, in the end, I gained 46 points and MeGrimlock lost 46. Results:

    the finish is at: http://www.flopturnriver.com/ofc-poker/table.php?12472

OK, I have the result from OneByPhi vs MeGrimlock:
    Megrimlock wins with 54 points.

The OP is updated with 2 links to your game for match review.

OhEfSEAbiscuit: Since it's 2 rounds now, I'm going to put you on notice for DQ.
Please get in contact with me however you can to prevent disqualification.

Does anyone know what's up with gmml and tedium?

I'd like to post Round 6 matches.

OneByPhi wins the match vs. MeGrimlock with +46 points.... They change the seat

Hey MMM ---I'm not sure how far you are along with the Standings ---but I think my number is incorrect. I think you are giving more "more" points than I deserve. Last I checked, I had (209) ---but then lost to OnebyPhil by (46) ....I could be wrong. But just let me know if you're completely up to date and/if there was a mistake.

Ya, it looks like he accidentally assigned the points backwards. I should have gained 46, and you should have lost 46 but the scores don't reflect that.

Oh, I think I figured it out. I won the first session by 50 and you won the second by 4, but MMM added 54 to your score and subtracted 54 from mine, as if you had won both sessions. I think our correct scores should be MeGrimlock 163 (209 - 46) and me 114 (68 + 46).

    Agreed. Fixed.

    Oops.

All scores are current through round 5... taking into account that OESb is missing.

It appears the OFC lobby is broken. (I'm getting the Helmuth 404.)

    Hi all,

I think I'm going to have to resign from the league. My situation has changed, and I'm not gonna be able to commit to coming on here often enough in order to reliably participate. I wish everybody luck in the league!

The one and only Duck Tolling Grinder put on a show of rungooding and luckboxing, hitting FantasyLand draws and staying in FantasyLand with insane frequncy. Shmondex put up a very impressive fight considering how hot I was running, but it was just too much insanity. DTG by 148.

You will play tedium in round 11. Please be patient.

I realize we have 2 dropouts since I last re-worked the matches. It's a lot of work to do it, and I'm reluctant to begin.

In other news. Wfnm1 beat me soundly, with a score of 25 points.

Am I missing something? Why you only play 35 rounds, and not 36?

Did it glitch out? I wouldn't have expected the software to allow a tie score at the end of the match... Since it's only in Round Robin where a tie is allowed, I didn't ever request for the software to change. I figured it's pretty darn unlikely to come up anyway... ah well... maybe not as unlikely as I'd thought.

Anyway. I'm re-working the matches so that we don't have 3 bye's each round... Round 7 matches to be posted soon

    Round 7 matches are posted.

Also, please note that I have posted the final 2 rounds of matches, since they contain a lot of byes.

As a side note, some players may have more than 1 bye round. I did everything I could to prevent this, but the dropouts have left me little wiggle room in the schedule. You can always play recreational games outside the tournament, though.

I apologize in advance if I am being an overly critical jackass, but what's going on with this league? Games don't seem to be getting played anymore, the standings haven't been updated in ages, and there just seems to be a general lack of interest. Are people still engaged? Is this going to move forward? Are these kinds of long-term tourneys just unworkable here? Where do we stand?

Yeah, we need to speed things up somehow. My match with DTG was back on May 25th but the opening post hasn't been updated to show it already took place.
  59. #284
After I get up the third time early in the morning to play my match against Boxman (he's not online again)
I quit the league. This is to boring for me.
    Have a good time
    cheers
  60. #285
cmon schmondex! its so obv that you are NOT the man who should quit.
  61. #286
It looks like quitting is pretty irrelevant because the game isn't happening anyway. The standings haven't been updated in weeks, and as far as I can tell from the posts here, no one had played a game since 5/26, and it was 6 days prior to that since the 2nd-to-last game was played. So it goes.

This is unfortunate - there are some great players in this league and I was looking forward to more matches.
