Default Big J Money's home tourney for May 1.

I'd like to start the tourney at 4pm SHARP! The same set up as last time applies. $50 buy-in, no-limit hold'em. Blinds start at $1-$2 and double every twenty minutes. Payouts for the top three positions based on ten players: First: $275, Second: $150, Third $75. First and Second place can split the pot if they come to a mutual agreement. This tournament should last 2-2.5 hours. After the tournament, $25 buy-in, no-limit hold'em. $1-$2 blinds with $25 rebuys allowed until everyone's tired.

Confirmed players are (8 total so far):

    Kenny
    Jen
    WBF, Wochie Big Fish
    Lan Solo
Rob Dog Bob Knob Slob Corn on the f$^*@n' Cob
    Ty
    Xianti
and your host, Big J Money

Does anyone know if DT is in for sure? Haven't gotten a reply from him, yet. Any suggestions who I should contact to fill up the rest of the seats? Darnel? Schulz? Samels?

May 1 = Derby Day. Guess it's not as big there lol(I live in Louisville, KY). If you've never been to the infield, it's something to experience.

If anybody at this end of the country wants to organize a holdem tournament, let me know. Good luck this weekend, guys.

    Tony,

I just spoke to Big J. He said you're welcome to join us, but he needs a definite answer TODAY, as he has two more seats to fill by Saturday. If you are in for certain, I will PM you the address. It is imperative that you show up on time (4:00pm), if not sooner.

He does not play on PartyPoker too often anymore, so he wants cash only.

If you really do not have the cash, I'd be willing to accept the PartyPoker transfer. Just let me know the TOTAL amount you'd like to bring for the day and I'll PM you my PartyPoker screen name. Once it's in my PartyPoker account, I can bring the cash for you.

    Xianti,

Since I can't make it you'll have to represent and defend our title. Especially from Lan, don't let him do well like he did in the cash game last time.

It sounds like a lot of people are interested in these tourneys. Maybe we can have a multi-table tourney next time...

Multi-table would be fun, but to be honest, I still have one seat open. Haven't received confirmation from Schulz or Joel yet to lock up a seat for them.

Plus, I only have one texas hold'em table. Not to say you can't use the kitchen table, but the hold'em table is way more fun to play on.

Who filled the 9th seat? You know you can edit your original post, right, Jay? Just click the "Edit" button in the top-right of your first post here and add the new name to the list.

I'll call Joel now. If I don't post here, it means I can't get a hold of him.

The 9th seat will be this guy named Mike who is a friend of someone I work with. I know him cuz he was one of the guys that trimmed one of the overgrown trees in front of my last house. He knows how to play hold'em, but he may be on the fishy side. The guy I work with said last time they went to Vegas, Mike blew though his wad for the weekend in about 2 hours. Plus, I felt there was a need to invite some bigger fish so WBF could have someone to prey on. Good times.....

    The table is now FULL.

Ryan said he's in for the tournament. With that, the players are:

    Kenny
    Jen
    WBF, Wochie Big Fish
    Lan Solo
Rob Dog Bob Knob Slob Corn on the f$^*@n' Cob
    Ty
    Xianti
Mike (possilby a bigger fish than WBF)
    Ryan
and your host, Big J Money.

Good luck all, or should I say, "Good pot odds."

Yeah, you definitely have to play next time. The tourney went well. Although, half of Team FTR was the first to get knocked out. For Xianti, FTR = First To Retire. He was followed by Wochie and myself. I don't think I've ever done well in a tournament. Not sure how the middle spots filled out since I was busy firing up the BBQ. The top three positions went to Mike (3rd place,) and Ty and Ken splitting first and second. Congratulations guys! My vote for most improved player has to go to Ken. Just a couple of months ago, the guy would lose his entire bankroll on going in with ridiculous cards. Now he's in the money round.

The cash game was pretty fun, but the pots didn't get a big as last time. Maybe we should do a $40 or $50 buy-in with the $1-$2 blinds next time. Or, down a beer after losing a showdown. (That's something Frank the Tank would go for.) Anyone's thoughts on that?
  30. #30
lol down a beer after a failed showdown.. wow
    that could get BAD
  31. #31
LOL! Sounded cool. sup with big Ken? changin up like that... someone's gotta feed that boy more drinks!!!

I was getting nothing but shit cards and went out with shit cards.
I guess I can't say I went out "in style."

The day wasn't a complete loss, though. I made my buy-in money back in the cash game afterwards.

    Yeah, psychicstraw = Mike.

As for the next tourney, I've got the next few weekends booked. Dad's birthday and Mother's Day this weekend. I'll be in Vegas the next weekend. (Anyone want to meet me out there?) Cousin's graduation and charity golf tournaments the weekend after that. Looks like the next open weekend will be sometime at the beginning of June. I'll keep you guys posted.

I got the new spa delivered yesterday. Looks sweet in the backyard at the Palazzo. So Xianti, when you're the First To Retire at the next tournament, you can kick back in the spa 'til the cash game starts.
