The HH mysteriously vanished but here we go anyways.

$25NL 6-Max on PokerStars

Villain is showing down some terrible hands. He's playing mostly passive but I've seen him play back with TPWK or worse. The dude is all over the map but it's obvious he's a total fish. However, I have not seen him 3-bet pre-flop more than maybe 2x in the past 50+ hands.

Hero raises 4xBB from UTG with AKs. Villain shoves from the CO for 24xBB, making it 20 more BB to call.

What does villain have?
Does hero call or fold?

edit: I thought it was $20 to call. For $5 I'm calling far far far worse.

Remember to pump your fist.

i would usually call. fail that, id quit poker.
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

I put him on a big Ace, possibly even AK or a total bluff. So I made the call. He flipped over QQ. Meh, I've made worse calls.

this is far from a bad call, and if you think otherwise i might suggest taking nutsinho's second option.

yea you can't fold this. think about it this way: at best he is drawing to 3 outs, at worst you are pretty much flipping against an underpar. AA/KK is highly unlikely, plus you can afford a 20BB cooler.

Call every time, any time, all day long, all night long, twice on Sundays, five times on Mondays, fifty times a week, a million times a year, as often as possible, on a boat, with a goat, while eating green eggs and ham - I'm definitely calling here, Sam I Am.

As to the question of "what he has," the answer is "almost anything other than pure crap, and occasionally that too." You're a favorite against his probable range - get the money in. I can't tell you how many times I've been in this spot and thought "this guy is terrible, but he hasn't been this aggressive up til now... uh oh..." and then he flips over A7 or something equally retarded. Don't outthink yourself by overestimating fish - especially when only a quarter stack is at stake.

I'm glad the general consensus here is an obvious call. AK seems to be my arch nemesis hand so I always feel iffy when calling a shove.

Calling a 24bb shove is very different from 100bb shove.

Insta-insta-insta-call the 24bb shove. They are shoving here with worse (AQ, AJ, Ax, etc) very very often.

i wouldnt fold that vs anyone. just think about what hes doing this with, and think about our equity vs that. flipping vs everything but KK/AA, and 60/40+ vs everything else.

conclusion: fist pumping my way to the bank.
