The board is super drawy, which makes it meh vs a non-believer, but you have no reads.

Either way, I don't think I'd ever use your turn sizing and then NOT bluff the river. You let him see the river too cheap and he got there with a wide range, so I think I'd fire again now, but probably around 32ish.

I think your turn and river bets are a bit suspect and as most draws missed I think you'll get looked up light here.

You're not really motivating him to fold a Q or a 10 with your sizing. Plus all the draws missed and unless villains on the right level he's not gonna fold those. I'd wait till I had more info to barrel here.

Checking the flop sometimes is good, I think.

if we bet near pot on turn (which we would with a strong hand because board is drawy) then if we hit the river we can fire very strong on river because his turn calling range is more weighted towards strong hands and only the best draws (pair&fd etc)

if we don't connect, how often should we bluff a spade river - this is dependent if there's more flush draws in MY range or HIS range but i'm not sure which ...

I don't think checking the flop is good at all, at least almost never. check/raise maybe? If that is what you had in mind.

Agree that bet sizing is weak if you plan to keep barreling.

I think checking the flop occasionally can be good for deception / diversifying your hand range in this type of spot. If you only check weakish hands that aren't willing to play big pots, then you won't be too hard to play against in these situations. I also prefer it a lot more against hyper aggressive opponents.

But yeah, as played the river bet is kind of weak. I would bet more on the turn / river if you were going to play it aggressively.
