why? someone please explain to me why c/fing the turn is at any time the correct play here....
you played it fine and he happened to have a hand that beat you
this is completely standard, you should never c/f this turn that doesnt even make sense

turn is very close but i prolly play same.

if the 9 wasnt there i'd think different i think.

I saw the this thread about TT play, and I wonder if this is the same (sry for hijacking, but I thought it was not needed to make an almost same topic. )

What will you do? And is the turn ok? Or will you use other bet amounts. My read on the player was a calling station.

Blinds: $0.25/$0.50

Nilis27 is at seat 1 with $70.35. (BUTTON)
Guevara14 is at seat 2 with $52.85.
kroski is at seat 3 with $33.20.
HERO is at seat 4 with $59.05.
VILAIN is at seat 5 with $50.00.

I thought the best way was a value bet of around $10? I was not really afraid of the straight possibilities, but maybe I should?

wow really tough spot C_S....
i c/f or c/c depending on opp. he has u beat a decent amount but then again this is a perfect spot for him to bluff.

I have run into situations just like these recently with JJ and 99. I feel c/f is weak, but eash time I call down for a cheap showdown I end up losing the pot. I don't think a fold can be wrong here. We have a marginal holding and too many cards are horrible for us.

But those 2 bet pots at the flop and turn are ok, or would you bet less?

Are you serious? What hands do you put him on when he calls the flop. I'm just not a fan of the never fold an overpair group.

Its definitely marginal any way you look at it. But I think villain shows up here with JJ,QQ often but also has AK/AQclubs often.

In this particular instance dude showed QQ.
Surprised me cuz thought he would raise flop with overpair & 2 flush cards on board.

OP, this is 25NL. People immediatley go passive with big hands. It's how they "win the most money". Some sort of read here is very useful. At 25NL he either raises too much and insta folds to a 3bet, or he never raises unless you're dominated. Villain is likely a 40/5 donk and his pre-flop raise should immediately make you think high pp. Play for a set, he can't get away.

coolsmoe, check turn, likely call (depends somewhat on bet size), he'll either check behind river with missed draw, or bet some stupid small amount like $2 which you almost have to call to see his straight.
