    Default party poker dispute - need advice. (long post)

    So about a week ago, I won an entry ($110 value) to the Spring Festival Satellite that PP is running right now. The sats run on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. I decided that I didn't want to do the one on Monday since I was dead tired, so I unregistered. I doublechecked that I had the freeroll credited in my account just to make sure. On Thursday during the day, I checked the tourney and saw that I was already registered. No problem. Once again, I wasn't ready to play, so when I got home from work, I fired up PP. When I did, it went through a client update and then started. After I logged in, I opened the lobby for the satellite, but none of the names of the signed-up entrants were listed and the "register" button was active. This was strange, because normally, if you are already registered, it is an "unregister" button, right? I also clicked on the "My Favorites" feature which is supposed to show what tourneys you are signed up for, but it listed nothing. This happened about 30 minutes prior to the tourney start. So I closed the PP client and restarted it. Now when I tried to log on, nothing happened. A popup window showed that it was "logging on........" I waited......nothing. I shut it down again and started it up. Nothing. I could not log on. I did this a couple of times. Now it was about 10 minutes until the tourney start. I was worried that I wouldn't even be able to log on to participate, much less unregister. I tried to call PP, but it wouldn't get through. (I use VOIP since I have no landline, so perhaps there was a problem....I have called PP before many time with no problem.) Now I am getting nervous.....so I write an email marked "URGENT" that I cannot log on and my tourney is about to start, blah, blah, blah. (At this point, I know I am screwed, since PPs replies take hours.) After that, I tried the logon one more time. Of course, now it works. It immediately takes me to my table of the tourney, and there is only 1 minute to go before it starts. Now I am Forced to play, since I cannot unregister. So I play and bust out after awhile. The problem is that I was supertired, and after all the logging in trouble, just a little bit pissed........that is how I had to start the tourney that I wanted to play on another day. So I try to call PP support again. Of course, NOW it works. I explain my situation. Long story short, the rep can only offer me a 20% up to $100 bonus with a 5x raked hands requirement. Not a bad bonus, but I got that when I signed up for Party. I wanted more......at the minimum an apology, but before offering me the bonus, the rep made sure to throw in that there was no way PP was at fault for my problem. Nice. PP is perfect.

    Today I check my email and there are two a replies to my "URGENT" email. One tells me that my problem was probably cause by my Internet connection. While possible, I have an extremely reliable connection and I have never been shut out of PP for 25 minutes before. The other states that after I win an entry the PP system automatically registers me for the next satellite. The rep goes on to say that PP does not allow entrants to unregister from automatically registered tourneys. Well, THAT is strange, since I successfully did so. Are they kidding? You aren't allowed to unregister, but we will provide you with this handy "unregister" button just to see what a dumb monkey you are. I think that this pissed me off more than anything. I spend my money trying to win an entry, and then I am not allowed to play the one that I want.

    Okay, this post got really long, but I feel better now. I would like to get a consensus here about what to do. Do I just take the 5x raked hands bonus and move on with my life, or do i really press PP on this issue and try to get more out of them. It has really soured me on PP. It is amazing to me that they do this kind of thing to their customers when there are so many other poker rooms out there.

    In closing, I know that I can't get the tourney entry back since I played, but I was inconvenienced in such a way that I feel is absolutely unacceptable considering the situation.

    I am really interested to see what you all think about this. If you made it this far (without just scrolling down), I really admire your patience and determination.

    You should know their policies before you play a satellite. You have no grounds to bitch if you win a seat and then find out their policy afterwards.

    take the bonus. While you prob have a point they arent going to back down.
    Although, just more evidence that we should quit party and watch them go busto!

    please read the entire post before flaming me. is the policy you are referring to the one about having the crappy software lock me out 30 minutes before my tourney?

    guess i should have added that i read the T&Cs thoroughly and even emailed support a couple of questions prior to any of this. what's more is that since i wrote this post i have talked with support a couple of times and they have no idea what they are talking about. an abridged version of a typical convo:

    me: is X possible?
    rep: X is absolutely not possible and is forbidden by Party Poker.
    me: but in the email that was sent it says Y about X.
    rep: uh, can you hold please while i check on that.
    me: sure.
    rep(after 5 min): sir, i just checked and actually it is Z.
    me: then Y about X isn't correct?
    rep: no. Z about X is our policy.
    me: you said that X was not possible?
    rep: well, as long as you follow Z about X it should be okay.
    me: but it doesn't state this anywhere.....neither in the T&Cs nor in the email.
    rep: i will make a note of your comments and forward it to the appropriate division.
    me: so you are saying that X is possible.
    rep: yes.

    now a rep being wrong isn't a problem.....people make mistakes. but this happens 4 out of 5 times i call PP support. the thing that was written to me in the email about unregistering was not true and is not stated anywhere in the T&Cs.

    i think this is what i will do. i've had it with party. the only reason i am playing there is to try to win an entry into this tourney in vienna. i live nearby and it would be great to get into this tourney.

    i think this is what i will do. i've had it with party. the only reason i am playing there is to try to win an entry into this tourney in vienna. i live nearby and it would be great to get into this tourney.
    ive pretty much given up on party full stop. Even if the US comes back into the market at some point, id hope they all went to stars or other sites because party are fking retarded.
