I know this is a lot of hands, but please bare with me. I edited them, so it shouldn't be too too painful
No reads or bad sample sets unless otherwise stated.
Hand 1:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (7 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)
SB ($24.40)
BB ($18.75)
UTG ($13.60)
MP1 ($27.50)
MP2 ($9.50)
Hero ($24.65)
Button ($9.80)
Preflop: Hero is CO with , .
UTG calls $0.25, 2 folds, Hero raises to $1, 3 folds, UTG calls $0.75.
Flop: ($2.35) , , (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $1.5, UTG calls $1.50.
Turn: ($5.35) (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero?
He has $11.10 behind. If he has an ace, than I'm better off bet/folding because I probably only have 7 outs and I can't be totally sure which ones they are. Right?
If he doesn't have an ace, a bet makes for an easy fold.
If I check I get a free draw in a situation where I'm almost certainly beat.
Hand 2:
v is 60/2/1.1
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)
UTG+1 ($14.80)
MP1 ($27.25)
MP2 ($32.35)
CO ($3.20)
Button ($20.90)
SB ($24.75)
BB ($15.90)
Hero ($21.85)
Preflop: Hero is UTG with , .
Hero raises to $0.75, 3 folds, CO calls $0.75, 3 folds.
Flop: ($1.85) , , (2 players)
Hero ?
1.85 in the pot, he's got 2.45 behind, just push?
Hand 3:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)
UTG ($25.95)
UTG+1 ($18)
MP1 ($12.30)
Hero ($29.95)
CO ($24.95)
Button ($4.80)
SB ($28.30)
BB ($3.85)
Preflop: Hero is MP2 with , .
UTG raises to $0.75, 2 folds, Hero raises to $2, 3 folds, BB raises to $3.25, UTG folds, Hero?
Seriously, he's got .60 behind. I have odds to call vs an overpair for 1.25, but only if I can see 5 cards and not for the other .60. WTF? Can I really fold here?
Hand 4:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)
SB ($23.35)
BB ($7.25)
UTG ($27.45)
UTG+1 ($10.25)
MP1 ($7)
MP2 ($47.35)
MP3 ($23.90)
Hero ($56.10)
Button ($32)
Preflop: Hero is CO with , .
2 folds, MP1 raises to $0.5, 2 folds, Hero raises to $1.75, 3 folds, MP1 calls $1.25.
Flop: ($3.85) , , (2 players)
MP1 bets $1.25, Hero?
Severely under-bet, he has $4 behind, my image is pretty good here, push?
Hand 5:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)
Hero ($30.40)
MP2 ($24.40)
CO ($10.85)
Button ($15.65)
SB ($23.50)
BB ($24.50)
UTG ($29)
UTG+1 ($21.45)
Preflop: Hero is MP1 with , .
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.75, 1 fold, CO calls $0.75, 2 folds, BB calls $0.50.
Flop: ($2.35) , , (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $1.5, CO calls $1.50, BB folds.
Turn: ($5.35) (2 players)
Hero?
There isn't much in the way of draws on the board. He has 8.55 behind, so if I want to fold to a raise I still have to under-bet a bit.
Thanks for any replies![/b]

Hand 1: Bet
Hand 2: Push
Hand 3: Call
Hand 4: Push or fold, it depends.
Hand 5: It depends on what you think of CO. If he's loose, I would bet/call this.

I push, V folds. It's thin, but it seemed right at the time.

I bet 2.75, he moved in for another 5.85. I'm getting 2:1 or so, but if I'm beat I'm destroyed, if I'm good I'm like 87%, so the exact odds don't really matter. I folded here, but it bugged the hell out of me.
I guess I'm doing ok vs. the shorties, but I was running pretty bad over my first 5k @ 25nl, so I wanted some assurance. The biggest difference I could see between 25nl and the lower limits was the prevalence of short stacks. I've done some reading, etc. (some good digest stuff at 2p2 about shorties). I've been pushing on them a lot recently, and they fold a lot to raises and 3-bets AI, so I'll just stay agro and let the variance be as it may.

I get AI a lot v's shorstacks. They just irritate me. Since they generally suck at 25NL I win more than I lose.
Hand 2 I c/c. I kinda realised that by pushing we only get called by hands we beat. Is this wrong?
Hand 3: lol, just raise the last .60 PF and see all 5.
Hand 4 is read specific. Pushing is fine.
Hand 5 you need to call his push over. This is an example where I say "screw you shorty" and call, because he looks like he wants you to fold.
As you say, lots of shortstacks at 25NL, but they've been pretty bad in my experience. Most of them think all they have to do is push and everyone will fold everything except nut hands. They also seem to think the stop'n'go is their rightful move to pick up pots on the flop regardless of cards.

Just playing to improve.

Yeah, I've been pushing them around quite a bit since I originally posted this. It's not only profitable, it's also a hell of a lot of fun.

Check out my self-deprecation here!
