thread delivers pretty much exactly what i expected.
utley's foot was on the bag. even if it was barely off, the precedent in baseball is to side with the spirit of the rule, and the "neighborhood" rule is the biggest example of that (if the fielder's foot is in the neighborhood and not clearly off the bag, it's ruled an out).
the runner at first was def safe though. but let's say it was benjie molina running, it's still a super sick play, and he's out by a mile.
i figured since there was a (barely) non-zero chance this thread would be hated by everyone, it was worth posting, so it was worth the gamb00l

also, ignore that whole neighborhood rule thing, utley's foot is on the bag, and it's not even close to pulling off early. he even slides it across the bag while he winds up to throw to first
