It took my mom 7 years to do the most recent one, just because she sat it down and didn't mess with it for a long time.

6 months is nothing, when you think about it. It took me a year to finish my crotcheting because I sat it down and didn't mess with it for a while, I probably worked on it for 3 months total to get it all finished.

I went to an Olive Garden for the first time in years the other time. What was the most unique part of it was that there was a kid probably around 20 with a girl around the same age. My girlfriend and I were sat near them (with me facing them) after they had already been seated. The WHOLE time neither of them say a word to each other. The guy (seemed extremely shy/awkward) kept looking down at his food the whole time while the girl stared at him and then at the tables around them in a confused look. At the very end she asked him something and he smiled with a quick reply. As the check was paid, the girl immediately left way ahead of him. By this time my gf is pissed that they've stolen all my attention. Obvious first (and probably blind) date?

But that's fucking awkward as shit. I guess I feel bad for him but I could never see any date of mine ever going close to that.

im doing a poker radio show with some buddies. we dont talk strategy at all, we just shoot the shit about whatever we want to talk about, which often is about poker. the first episode is up on pokerstatic.com (rootbone radio!), the 2nd has more poker related content with some bets my friends made with ivey and matusow. check it out and let me know what you think, what you liked, what you didnt, any feedback at all would be cool. there is a durrr cameo in episode 2 and we'll probably have a full interview with him whenever we are really ready to take on 10k visitors or whatever its gonna be

I've only watched/listened to about half of the first one (all I had time for), and I thought it was good stuff. I think there probably should be more poker content, tbh, but you say there's more in the 2nd so that's cool. Peter Jetten is nowhere near a "star" yet (but I guess he's getting a lot more publicity during this year's tournament), and the other three of you aren't there either (except for in my heart, gabe!), so I think talking more poker would be beneficial. I had an interest in the broadcast for sure, and thought it was pretty damn good--but I know you from here and IRL, so that probably helps. Listening to/watching four *poker* guys just shoot the shit about non-poker issues probably wouldn't be fun for most people. Name drop the shit out of people, tell stories, etc. I'm sure as time passes you guys will start to kick ass at this thing.

Good stuff I look forward to the second half of #1 and all of #2.

I haven't looked much at beans and legumes, but pretty sure they're all right if they don't make up too large a portion of your diet. There's nothing known to be special about them unless you lack some aspects of nutritional variety

I think you may have misunderstood me. If we're talking about pros/cons vs standard American diet, then lentils are nectar handed down from the heavens. Within the context of a diet that attempts to continually improve itself, lentils are a non-necessity except for variety purposes. When I said "special", I meant things that are exclusive to lentils or similar foods. Like how b12 is exclusive to meat/dairy, I would say that meat are special or essential. Lentils have a whole lot of that folic acid stuff, which is great, but non-essential if you're getting it from elsewhere. However, if you're not getting it elsewhere, then lentils can be viewed as essential. Just an example

Having said that, when it comes to the most "optimal" nutrition possible, I think that lentils can be classified as essential for the purpose of potential hidden nutrition. We didn't know about fish oils until we knew about fish oils, that kinda thing

My primary point was that they're good, just don't overdo them. If every meal you eat is based heavy on lentils, you'll be better off than the average crap diet (unless you're really deficient elsewhere), but it's even better to just not go overboard and overdo it. I only mentioned that because it's something people do. They go "such n such is good therefore omgomg if i pile it on omgomg it's better omgomg". At least I know I've been like that. I've probably gone a total of 200 days where my primary food was about 100 pounds of juiced carrots per week.
