 Pokerstars Deposit
I recently deposited into my Pokerstars account and noticed something new show up on my credit card statement. There was a Cash Advance Fee of $5. I sent them an email and noticed in their automatic reply the following:
CIBC Credit Card Services treat Cash-Like Transactions as cash advances. Cash-Like Transactions are those involving the purchase of items directly convertible into cash. Examples include but are not limited to casino gaming chips (including virtual casinos and wagering websites), money orders, wire transfers, and travellers’ cheques.
Never got this any other time I have deposited, so WTF?!? Is this something new?
